re: Bye Bye Birdie off to a BAD start

RippedMan, I'm not sure how you can really compare the marketing campaigns for something like ETK and BBB. They're such different animals, and I think the Birdie posters really encapsulate the setting and mood of the show. Just as Exit the King and Norman Conquest art did.

"Gee they are off to a bad start AND we know that the deaf won't be able to follow the story?"

This is why dramamama is made of awesome.

re: Bye Bye Birdie off to a BAD start

OK Guys and Gals I want to thank you for letting me vent. I am ending this talk now. You will not hear from me till the reviews and the closing notice. Faster than 9 to 5.

I can see the reviews now... BYE BYE BIRDIE This show is so dated, even Hugo and Kim would not go out on a Saturday night to see it. Even with fine actors like Stamos, they could not keep it from flying away, because they have nothing solid to work with, with songs like "everything is Hugo , I will go where you go" or better yet "one boy to laugh with, to joke with, have COKE with"
They should have kept this show in the coupe.

See ya all later when I can say TOLD YOU SO...........BYE BYE

BYE! Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Geez.

ROUNDABOUT is responsible for the abysmal revival FOLLIES, THREEPENNY OPERA and 110 IN THE SHADE ad campaigns/posters, so what do you expect?

Yeah, having a picture of water running over Audra McDonald is awful marketing. I'm sure no one liked that artwork. re: Bye Bye Birdie off to a BAD start

Bye Bye Birdie is closing January 10, 2010. So, yes...it will close faster than 9 to 5.

It's weird...the OP first states that he/she/it loves the show and ends trashing it.

And the line "everything is Hugo , I will go where you go" doesn't appear in the show. Only the Ann-Margaret film.

And if you think Bye Bye Birdie is dated then you must be living under a rock. It may be a period piece but the core of the story is still very relevent. How different is the hoopla surrounding Birdie from the hoopla surrounding, say, the Jonas Brothers?

Yeah, way to be mature. Just goes to show your insecurities.
