What is with the signs for Bye Bye Birdie. If I was going down the street I would walk right bye the Theater. How awful can you get. Do they not want this show to be a hit.
In retail you are taught catch the buyers eye. They should take a clue. BAD BAD my High School program had a better look.
As for F. Rainbow people who do not like the signs look at the book cover from the movie when the movie came out, looks pretty close. The colors.

Eh they're not great but it's nice to see some Spring Awakening alumni.

I'll let you know when I see it on Sept. 13. But I don't think the signs look all that bad. I kind of like them.

I agree but Spring Awakening had great posters .
I have stage seats for it here in Chicago next week.
Wouldn't most people visiting the theater be seeing the show anyway?

I will age myself here. They look like all the kids need to wear are 3D glasses and it would be an ad for the 3D movies when they first came out.

Yes this is true most people will see the show. Don't you think having a great sign makes it even better. Not some cheap looking photograph.
This is the stupidest thread. Does the quality of the signs really effect how the show is going to be? The name will sell it self.
People on BWW are the mastrs of judging a book by it's cover!

Well, seeing as how the show takes place during a time when 3D films were popular I don't see how that's a bad thing.
Why is everyone calling them signs?

You know Eris. I reall do not get this Message Board There have been many times people get on and say how much they hate the signs of different new shows like F Rainbow. I get on and get beaten up for expressing my view. There has to be many people out there who do not like them.
I love the show and want it to be a hit. I am just saying a fact and all of you know it is bad signing.

What would you call something that advertises a product.

I don't see how I, or anyone else, have attacked you. Show me where someone called you a name or threatened to hurt you in some way.

The posters in front of a theatre are called marquees.
I never thought I'd see the day where they would ape the SIDE SHOW poster art, possibly the worst ad campaign in Broadway history and a main reason many claim the show failed as it did.
UGH!
C'mon, I wanna love this - Stamos and Gershon could be SO much fun!

THANK YOU Pgenre I kew there were some smart people out there.
I want the show to be a hit also. I love the show. I wish they could have made it a first class act.
definition of marquee - 2 a: a permanent canopy often of metal and glass projecting over an entrance (as of a hotel or theater) b: a sign usually over the entrance of a theater or arena that displays the names of featured attractions and principal performers
so, I'll SIGN off by saying I hope the soundtrack is good!

Just because people have different views doesn't mean their stupid.
^
...or even that they're stupid
Every time you think that a BWW thread has climbed the absolute highest possible peak on the mountain of stupidity, some asshole comes along...

OK Eris what about being called an asshole.
What about what Jane2 said THANK YOU Jane2
We do have some smart theater people out there
I don't deserve any credit really-my point is that some people here focus so much attention and importance on terminology that it's laughable.

I agree with you and Thank you Jane 2. I am a big theater person.
I even go to the Cabaret shows some of the leads of shows do.
I do not go on this board that often but read it everyday.
I just wish that people would be honest and not try to pick you apart for having a say.
What about this is a stupid message. Oh I forgot Hello Dolly revival and Hair T shirts those are very important.
To be honest I think everyones post is important because it is important to them
Thanks Jane

Personally, I think punctuation is important.
