Bernadette Peters, as much as I love her, is completely wrong for Sally. And Jason Alexander? Please tell me that's a sick joke.

Wait...was someone serious about Bernadette and Jason Alexander?

I think a CABARET remake would be a very bad idea. The original is a masterpiece, and even though it is very different from the stage show as far as story details, the theme, message, and brilliance has not suffered. i'm not saying NEVER make a remake, just not yet. Alan and Natasha's performances are too fresh in people's minds for them to make a movie. The movie would have to be in exact from the revival, or most Bway fans will hate it. On the other hand, people who love the original and haven't seen the revival want it to be like that, and they'll be disappointed. I'd say CABARET's a movie we should leave alone...now, a SWEENEY TODD movie would be incredible.

And what exactly would be wrong with having a new vision of the show on film? How would that take away from the original if you love it so much?

NOBODY other than Liza has any right to play Sally. As much as I idolize Bernadette, she'd be totally wrong for the part. Plus she's 56!

I didn't say it would take away from anything. It would be different if the original movie flopped and made the show look terrible on screen, which is why I would love for them to remake things like A CHORUS LINE. And I didn't say anything would be wrong with it either, I just think it's unnecessary. Don't fix it if it's not broken, you know?

How is filming it with a completely different vision "fixing" it? It's telling the story a different way.

Darling. You know what I'm trying to say...it's a saying I was using, it's not meant to be taken literally. You're smarter than that...
