That is SO true Jim! LOL. I walked into the neil Simon expecting myself to go "well Harvey did that this way" or "Harvey did that better" at every turn.. being perfectly honest, only two times in the entire show did that thought enter my mind.. and they were where jokes did not hit because he didn't have Harvey's gravel voice. Micheal makes Edna all his own and is perfectly wonderful in the role.

i am so glad that it is Micheal that took over.. I really am.
It is HILARIOUS how long of an applause/laughter he gets with the "jewish" joke in "Timeless To me". even at the Wednesday matinee.... I SWEAR the audience was SO dead that day.. but when he hit that joke.. the laughter was in full force and only topped by Jackie Hoffman's entrance during "You Can't Stop the Beat" where she ad-libed "The biggest hit show on Broadway and we have empty seats in the front row.. what's wrong with people Lon? Are they afraid of a little rain? Bunch of pussies" and then when she hit the "sweet jesus" line a few beats after.


To enhance the visual of my mother, she looks like Sarah Jessica Parker with less money, a bad haircut, an an abundance of sun damage to her skin. I kid you not.
And yes, in retrospect, what happened was hilarious.. but at teh time, I wanted to crawl intoa hole and DIE. LOL.

I am just saying that his tone in this thread illustrates how sweet he is. He didn't blast you here, so why would he do it later? Oh, and as for your last comment, no, not everyone. Just those of us who made a donation to his favorite charity! But boy, was it good.
