Alan Alda was in several musicals in his early career, most notably "The Apple Tree" in which he was wonderful.
And Christopher Walken also, he was a Rolf replacement in the original "Sound of Music" and most recently "The Dead"

I could also see Matthew Morrison!

I also was thinking Morrison at the beginning. That's interesting about Alda, though. For some reason I never knew all that.

I've never seen the original Tom Hanks-Leonardo DiCaprio film. Does the material lend itself easily to a musical treatment?

Ann Margrock - the story is about a teenaged con man - an 18 year old boy who poses as a commercial airline pilot, a doctor, etc., The Hanks character is the FBI agent who becomes obsessed with tracking him down. It's set in the early 1960's and the action jumps around to different countries.

I also think that Matt Morrison would be great as Frank Abagnale jr.
