Yesterday I saw the matinee show of Chicago and it had all the Razzle Dazzle I expected. I have to admit that this was the 1st time I saw the show, including the movie version. I hated that it took me this long to see such a GREAT show. I could comment on every performance and performer but there’s really no need to. I enjoyed everything about this show. I can’t wait to see it again so I can start comparing shows. It’s the sexiest thing I’ve seen on B-way thus far.

Wayne Brady didn’t perform at this performance but I was still highly impressed without him.

If you haven’t seen the show, you should, even if you seen the movie and didn’t like it. The stage has lot more to offer.

OK, seriously, has Wayne Brady EVER been in the show? I know I missed him, but so many others on this board have mentioned missing him as well. Wassup wit dat?

Yes he's actually IN the show. He doesnt miss many performances, but he had a few things he had commitments to.... contractually, he had obligations.

No, he doesn't miss every other show. Don't mislead everyone else on the boards. Im not speculating this answer either, it's fact, so please don't anyone decide to argue me on it.

I certainly hope he is there for the November 14 show as that is the reason we planned our trip. It would be so disappointing for him not to be there. Our last trip was a bust due to the "lights out on broadway" strike.
Crossing fingers he is there!

Does anyone else in here think the Ambassador Theatre is the ugliest theatre on broadway? I know this is irrelevant...

I used to work there. I think it's cold, poorly designed, and looks cheap. Why do you hate it?

I sat on the far right of the mezzanine and had my view beautifully blocked by speakers. Charming.

CJR will definitely check out their websites.

Like I've said before, I enjoyed the show without Wayne Brady being there. I had intentions to see the show with or without him so I really wasn't disappointed. He being there would have been an added bonus.

I didn't think the Ambassador Theatre was too bad. I did think it was small, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

If you'd seen Chicago for the first time at the Shubert and then saw it at the Ambassador, you'd understand why I hate it so much lol It's just a much different theatre.

Who did you see as Billy instead of Wayne? Bernard Dotson?

10am Monday through Saturday (Sunday the BO opens at 12pm) and rush tickets aren't available for the evening show on Saturday; matinee only.

Im not sure how the rush has been lately. I can honestly say I haven't rushed tickets in almost 2 years....

Find it interesting how this thread just "popped" up after the other recent Chicago thread. And hey, they stole the same title.

Just an observation.

That would be an alarming observation if it was posted by a 'swing' but since it wasn't I see no connection between the two....

Maybe this poster just felt the need to have a positive review of a 'new show' (to them, anyway) that they enjoyed.
