Well, the real issue at hand is the casting. If the show were to close it April it would go out with a bang. They would never close it down now with the current casting of Velma. That would be like closing night of 700 SUNDAYS with Billy Crystal's understudy in.

My next (and final time) seeing the show is March 13th. I already have my ticket; front row, center orchestra.

SticktoPriest,,,,,Sweet Charity is not in the same league as CHICAGO.
I do not care for the current "black box" production of CHICAGO. The original production, while imperfect, still brings back goosebump memories (I saw the original several times).
I saw the revival of SWEET CHARITY with Debbie Allen, Bebe Neuwirth and Michael Rupert. The ONLY thrilling part of the show was the Hey, Big Spender number. Neuwirth and Rupert were delightful.
SWEET CHARITY is an ok musical. It does not come close to being one of the greats.
So many great shows out there. I wonder why "they" think that this second rate Coleman/Simon/Fosse show will reap them great profits.
I have read that at least they are reworking some of the show...getting rid of that awful song "I love to Cry at Weddings," altering the ending of the show a bit.......but the book is so terribly lame and so much of the "Fosseing" is so pretentious, predictable and almost embarassing to watch (I do not know if they are recreating the original production as the most recent Broadway revival did--I hope they are not recreating the original production--it was simply sleep indusive.)
I guess if you want to see Christina Applegate singing and dancing, you will have a good time at the SWEET CHARITY revival. However, be warned, many of us think the basic work is simply boring

Bronx, still knocking Terra? Eh? Since some of the Chicago fanatics have given her great reviews, your opinon on her doesen't mean dirt anymore.
Heather. Is March 13 the day Roxane is leaving? I wish her a lot of luck and success in the future, she is very talented. I'm hopefully seeing the show soon, can't wait to see Roxane one more time.

I got my tickets to see Ms Albelle here in Los Angeles. RoD right in the center of Orchestra. The evening I am going to is also a benefit for the gay and lesbian center. It will be a fantastic audience.
