"Since Al Pacino is leading this do you think this will be a tough ticket, or since it doesn't really seem like a flashy play do you think it will play like The River where it sold well but you could still manage an inexpensive ticket. I'm asking this because I'm wondering when I should buy the tickets for this show."
If you look at the show's schedule you will see that not only is it a short run, but there are fewer performances than is typical, so there are fewer opportunities to see it which will only increase demand. It looks like Pacino has some other obligations or is taking extra days off here and there.
If you are only available to see it before New Years, I would buy tickets sooner rather than later. If you are available during the slow season in January and February, you can probably afford to wait on the tickets since there will be fewer people looking for tickets during the slow season.
