HI ALL...i will be making my now annual trip to see Broadway this November...and unlike last year where i had 4 musicals i needed to see this year only FALSETTOS has me excited...anyone have other musicals or play ideas i should see...anything but CATS & SCHOOL OF ROCK please...:) thanks!
Id Suggest Dear Evan Hansen, The Color Purple, and Natasha, Pierre, and The Great Comet of 1812. I believe the two new shows should be in previews during your trip, but they're both in excellent shape from their pre-Broadway runs!
you must see Dear Evan Hansen and The Color Purple

DEH, Natasha, and the Color Purple. I think the two latter will be open, and DEH should be in previews.
Bar none, do not miss The Color Purple! Can't wait to hear what you end up deciding!
thanks guys!!...to be honest i had a chance to see one of the first previews of THE COLOR PURPLE lat Nov. but choose AN AMERICAN IN PARIS instead...which i liked but did not love...oh well maybe this year then!...so now i have some choices...and i figure since i cannot afford HAMILTON tix, i have even more chance to see newer shows like the ones you have mentioned...

Another vote for The Color Purple. It's a good thing you didn't go last year, because the show is a whole 'nother level with Heather Headley in for Jennifer Hudson. Turned a great show into something spectacular!
Just my ticket for a 3rd go around!
You need to make it your business to see The Color Purple. It is not to be missed.

How long do talk expect it to be open? I'm dying to see it but won't be in NYC til March.
I am also planning a trip at the end of November and are having a tough time deciding on one more show to see. I can only see two shows and have already purchased tickets for Dear Evan Hansen. I would like to see The Color Purple but only if Cynthia Erivo is still in it. I saw the previous version of the Color Purple three times on Broadway years ago with LaChanze and Renée Elise Goldsberry. I understand this is a different production and I'm curious to see the difference. The other show that has also peaked my interest is Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812. I hesitate only because I don't know anything about this show other than many comments on these boards of people looking forward to seeing it.
Any thoughts on which one I should see or any different suggestions?
Dear Evan Hansen for sure. Seeing it in December for the second time and couldn't be more excited. Ben Platt is not to be missed.

The great comet is a fantastic show. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did because the whole show seemed kind of weird. It is the first show I have seriously considered seeing again. I would absolutely recommend seeing it if you have the opportunity. It is different, but it is worth a shot.

barbra, the show will probably be open in March, though if so, Cynthia will likely no longer be with the production, provided she doesn't extend what I assume is a one-year contract.

You must see The Color Purple. I am requiring it.
Waitress!! Just saw it today and LOVED IT! Jessie is phenomenal!
I'll put in another vote for Waitress. I loved that show and I'm absolutely obsessed with the cast recording. I counted the days for it to be released and it's been on a loop (either for real or in my head) ever since).
I really enjoyed Dear Evan Hansen when I saw it at 2nd Stage. Wasn't won over by the music, but definitely loved the story!
