The tone of that review reminds me of how a 4-year-old at work reacted today when I gave him the blue bunny instead of the green bunny he wanted- an incredibly whiny "But it's not the same!"
*prepares pitchforks, just in case*
(I'm KIDDING! :-p)
Ugg, I hate Talkin' Broadway. You realize that the only people actually reading that review are... well, us?
Why do people always get the date wrong? This idiot told me it was the 30th, and I almost had a heart attack.
*keeps pacing, and preparing pitchforks with BroadwayChica*
I am now going to boycott talkin broadway and All that chat untill they take it back and post a new (rave) review. Oh yeah!
We need Starbucks and Ben and Jerry’s. Now.
Maybe a combination of the two?

Haha! Calm down people! Talkin' Broadway's wasn't THAT bad. As he kept insisting, it's bad, but it's nowhere near as bad as Sweeney was.
Me, I'd go for some hard liquor right now. Bailey's, cause it's both sugary and alcohol-y...
Don't make ME start calming people.
I'm savin' the hard liquor for Tony night.
Already got it. Want some?

I'll be in the chat room if anyone wants moral support....or something to do besides refreshing nytimes.com....
ooh, yes please.
I hope our drinking is more of a celebratory than drown our sorrows type thing. *sigh*
HURRY UP BRANTLEY!!! I'M GOING TO START MAKING WOUNDED PUPPY NOISES!!
Hmm... how about a combination of Bailey's and Ben and Jerry's? I can't let go of the computer, though...
damnit I need moral support but this computer won't let me friggin chat
The Talkin' Broadway review is senseless, as the people he's talking to most likely adored SWEENEY, and he's speaking as though everyone hated it, which is far from the general consensus.
Does anyone listen to the Talkin' Broadway reviews. He hasn't liked anything since God knows when.
Bailey's and Ben and Jerry's....talk about a devilish combination. I think I'd get more drunk from the sugar high. Bring it on!!!
And, yes, the reviews for Sweeney Todd were mostly positive. I completely disregard Talking Broadway.
*pokes Brantley with a giant stick*
You guys... get in the chat room... I think we all need the moral support.
... I don't want to ask... but what do you guys think he'll say?
Agrees with WBAF, I really don't understand what the Talkin Broadway review was trying to say

I know people are nervous, but review threads are for posting reviews- keeping them organized and in one place. So far, there have been 2 reviews total, very little discussion about said reviews, and about 40 posts of people just posting nonsense. That's what the banal thread on the off-topic board is for.
And as Margo already said, the Times review won't be posted until 8pm at the absolute earliest, so posting 10 times demanding the gods indulge your impatience is unnecessary.
I suspect Brantley will be mixed to positive. He loved Doyle's Sweeney Todd, and has proven to love Raul Esparza in the past. He may have some problems with the production, but I doubt he'll give it a completely negative review.
The whole idea of "people who loved Sweeney hated Company", and vice versa, seems to be true. But many of us loved both shows. So there's no predicting where Brantley will stand.
Edited, cause I'm an idiot :-p
