Okay, so I know your not supposed to watch the movie before you see the live show but I watched Cabaret the movie version and instantly fell in love with the song "Money" for Thespian Competion and I was sad to see that its not a duet in the stage version but there is a million and one different stage versions so I wanted to know if there was some kind of revival or version of Cabaret where "Money" was duet or if its just the movie. Thanks!
The Alan Cummings revival used a combination of the original songs nd the movie songs, including "Money" and "Maybe This Time".
It is not a duet in any of the three stage versions.
Not suppose to? Says who? for many people the film is the only way TO see a show.
I'm not particularly fond of the movie, but I recognize that it is good. And I don't see why Money couldn't be a duet on stage, if that's what you're asking.

This may not be the reason in this case, but directors and teachers do tell performers not to watch the movie so that they don't copy the performance or get attached to doing it the way it was presented in the movie.

By that point in the stage show, Sally does not work at the club any more.
Goth -- sure, but the OP specifically talks of not watching the film before getting to see a live performance.
I was under the impression that the OP is looking to perform the song as a single number in a showcase. Did I interpret Thespian Competition the wrong way?
Nope, not at all.
In that case I don't see why it matters that at the point Money appears in the show Sally has been fired.
