I was ten when Cabaret played at the Henry Miller's, so I did not see it there and have no personal experiences to share, but have also always been interested in how it worked in a different space. I've read little bits about it over the years, but just yesterday (it so happens) read this very interesting article about the process of bringing the production to New York, which includes more details about the show at the Kit Kat Klub than I'd heard before. Enjoy!

Speaking of the Henry Miller's, its last days were paradise for me. One of, if not the very last, productions there was Fassbinder's The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant. OMG. Imagine that story done in that ramshackle, decadent Germanic space! I was working it as asst. HM. so I got to see all the performances. There were only a few, but I was in heaven.
