yeah but the difference is shoshana bean didn't play tracy... she covered the role, and was a second cover on top of that.

whoever the pick for the role will have to be the epitome of tracy in every imaginable way.

It was self-made...but the second one she has the sides from the movie, so I think that the movie casting people contacted her based on the first vieo she sent to them.

Wow she's really good...she should play Tracy on Broadway...or the movie if they decided to cast someone new.

She does have a great voice and sounds very "Tracy", but, I have a feeling she wouldn't be able to sing it 8 times a week, full out. Remember, Tracy is on stage 90% of the show.

I thought she was just alright. I didn't see/here anything speacial. You can see that performance given at any comunity theater across the country. She's talented, but not the second coming. I'm sure in a nation wide search they can find somone better.

Sounds like every fat girl that thinks they can play Tracy b/c they are fat and can sing. Her voice is good...but there's one of those in every other high school in the U.S.

And the poor girl looks scared to death...you can tell she has NO idea what she's singing about.

She has a pretty good voice. She'd be great in the Broadway production.

I saw this the other day. I like her voice, but her acting portion wasn't very impressive. But then again, it's hard to fully capture someone's talent and stage presence in that sort of setting. I think she could make it far in the audition process... Whether or not she actually lands the role is another story, but she definitely has got a great voice.

I liked her a lot. Its just hard to hear that song without the band and stuff. Her eyes are big. I like how she puts her phone number on there and then puts it on YouTube.

She has a very husky, soulful voice in my opinion, which is what a lot of the Tracy's have been lately, with the exception of Shannon Durig. Shoshana Bean obviously didn't have the traditional Tracy voice, but she did veyr well with the part the few times she went on. They do tend to go toward more "cutesy" voices for Tracy, but I think this girl could pull it off. And if not Hairspray, some other Broadway show.

i really dont think she is anything special. i think tracy should be played by someone who has already been in the role ( well besides marissa,keala and kathy because they look too old)
