Can cast members of Broadway shows get free tickets for family and friends? Just had a conversation with a friend of mine where she told me that her roommates mom knows someone in the cast of Beautiful, and that they can get free tickets that way. However, I had been under the impression that that wasn't actually the case. Maybe someone could shed some light on this for me?
I have personally never heard of a show allowing any cast member to have comps to any performance. Not to say that it isn't the case for Beautiful, or hasn't been for any show ever. House seats, which are full price, are reserved for cast, crew and production members. I got in to Hairspray and Billy Elliot a few times that way when they were in their prime.
Company members would usually get 2 comps for opening night and that's it. If the show isn't doing well they may be offered a couple more comps to help pad the house. Also sometimes they may have access to certain discount codes that they are allowed to provide to friends/family. And as mentioned above, they have access to house seats. House seats are the "best seats in the house" but must be fully paid. (Sometimes house seats are comparable to premium seats for the general public, but company member's friends/family can purchase them at non-premium prices). If the house seats are in demand (for a sold-out popular show) the company will do a sign-up sheet for shows so that everyone gets a chance at them.

I have a friend in Beautiful who got me house seats.
me and my ex got comps to Cinderella, but he knows Laura Osnes so idk if that makes a difference since she was cinderella lol. We got house seats, and I met her after!! Sweetest person ever, and omg she is so beautiful and super thin
Having friends who have been in several shows over the years both above the title and below we have always paid for the use of their house seats. Just happy to have the access to them when needed.
I've gotten house seats on Broadway several times from people associated with a show, either behind the scenes or in it. Comps only once, during previews.
For Finding Neverland I got comps from the production, and house seats from Matt Morrison, bur I know he paid for those. They are premium seats which the actors pay about $150 each, so at a non-premium price.
Makes me laugh how only one person felt the need to put the name of someone associated with a show in this thread.Tacky.

Thanks for the unnecessary attack. I love this board. Who the F cares if I put a name or not. I just meant an actor can get seats but has to pay, even if it's the lead. Whatever.
double post
valeposh. Take a chill pill. At the time I was not even talking about you. Unless I am psychic and knew what you were going to post at the same time I did. If you look at the thread someone else did prior to you.

I guess we can't all be quite the class act you are.
Thanks.
