I confess I don't know the play. Do any of the characters have to sing?

She's playing the role Amanda Peet played some years ago off-Broadway. I don't recall there being singing.
Clifford Odets sure writes a great toe-tapper!
No...it's not a musical.
But yes...the bitch can sing...and I wish she was playing Polly in THREEPENNY.

She would make a good Polly, but I'm excited to see Nellie McKay do it.
Back on topic, Lauren Ambrose did some brief singing in Psycho Beach Party and had a song in the last season of Six Feet Under.

Awake and Sing is a brilliant play by Clifford Odets, with NO singing.
But yes, she can sing quite well. I'm excited...She's going to be brilliant!
She sang on SFU a few times...she can sing. Believe me.

And "You Ride Up My Thighs" (to the tune of "You Light Up My Life" on Six Feet Under...
Is this show going to be Broadway or Off-Broadway?
I'm so sad this isn't a musical, because she has an amazing voice. I'd love to see her in a musical, though I will be seeing her in this play regardless. She's great.
