I'm trying to find any type of karaoke CD or accompaniment CD for "7 Brides for 7 Brothers." I'm trying to find this for a high school that doesn't have the resources to have a live orchestra. They're also on a very tight budget, and I think the only pre-recorded option they've found thus far is very very expensive. Any help would be very much appreciated, thanks!!
Not to be a sour puss, but I'm pretty sure the theatrical licensing companies include in their contract that you MUST use or at least pay for the live orchestrations as part of your agreement in doing the show.
Karaoke CDS also make cuts and alterations to the material which probably violate the rules of the contract between the high school and Music Theatre International.
Now, MTI does have a feature called "rehearsa-a-score" available for SEVEN BRIDES - it contains all the music as played in the score, but I don't know if you can use this in lieu of an actual orchestra during performance - you'd have to contact them directly, but that is probably your best bet.

thanks. And I realize all the implications that go in with the licensing agreement, but haven't been involved in that part of the process, so I guess I'm still looking for any (maybe even hypothetical) options.

bump
does MTI not allow you to use pre recorded orchestral tracks? I thought only the TamsWitmark contracts say that you can't use recorded tracks?

About 4 or 5 years ago i directed a production of 7 Brides for 7 Brothers at the high school where I teach Drama. At that time, MTI had the orchestration on CD that you coud rent. You might want to see if they still have it. I think at the time, it cost about $ 500.00 to rent. If you want more information PM me. I have some other ideas as well.

I don't know most of the score, but what I do know is "Goin' Co'tin'".
