Can't decide on which play?

Can't decide on which play?

I'm going to NYC in January.  We will only be there for two full days (Sat and Sun which gives me time for 4 shows).  Already decided on Pretty Woman, King Kong, and Mean Girls (I've already seen this one, but I'm going with my family who hasn't).

For the fourth slot, I've narrowed my choices down to American Son, To Kill a Mockingbird, and The Ferryman.

Please help me pick/tell me about your opinion on the plays.  If I can't decide on only one play, I'd maybe be willing to replace Pretty Woman with a second play.  Please help! TIA

American Son is totally skippable, in my opinion. I'd also ax Pretty Woman (or King Kong, for that matter) and see The Ferryman and Mockingbird.

I’ve seen all three plays, both mockingbird and ferryman are must-see but personally I prefer mockingbird.

I'll echo what Concierge said: skip Pretty Woman, and see both Mockingbird and Ferryman.

Honestly, I'd skip all of those. The four best shows on Broadway this season are all plays!

The Ferryman
Torch Song
Network
To Kill A Mockingbird

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Replace King Kong with The Ferryman. I enjoyed Pretty Woman more than most.

Kick King Kong off your list. if you've seen a photo of the beast, you've seen the show. It's that bad.

I would also kick off Pretty Woman and Mean Girls. Why bother? Mediocre movies turned into mediocre musicals.

See:

THE WAVERLY GALLERY

THE FERRYMAN

The Ferryman- and WAverly Gallery- which I have not seen- I live in Atlanta- but many people I know have- and it is getting great word of mouth. That is the play I most want to see- second- Lifespan of a Fact.

I'd skip Pretty Woman and see both Mockingbird and Ferryman (which is stellar).
