Carey Anderson is New Kate in Q

What does everyone think about this casting? I saw her in Mamma Mia and wasnt generally impresed but maybe she will have good acting ability than other Kates cause she has done a major role on broadway before.

I saw Carey several times in Mamma Mia and loved her as Sophie. She has a great voice and can act, and I think she'll be wonderful in ave q. I can't wait to see her as Kate!

re: Carey Anderson is New Kate in Q

Sorry, I know this thread is a little old.

I won the lotto for Avenue Q the the matinée performance and saw Carey Anderson as Kate/Lucy. Granted, I saw the original cast and LOVED Stephanie. While the original cast can never be beat, Carey was FANTASTIC. Her Lucy was soo sweet, sensual, timid, and mischievous- I absolutely loved how she took on the role of Lucy, specifically.

Other than that, I'm afraid the shows phrase will soon follow: "Everything in life is only for now"

....including Avenue Q.

My favorite show.

re: Carey Anderson is New Kate in Q

Larsen (I am blanking on the first name) had another project lined up that would have kept her from the tour for a short period of time. So, she left and Carey Anderson who was with the Broadway company filled in for her. To replace Anderson they brought in Romano. Now that Romano is gone Anderson is back.

I think you mean Anika Larsen.

I've seen both Carey and Christy in Ave Q and there's no comparison. Christy was fine but Carey is amazing!!

Have seen Carey on the tour and she was fantastic. Created two completely different characters for Lucy and a very sexy Lucy.
