Mamma Mia... I should be beaten, I know I know..

Although I am surprised that someone said Secret Garden... My theatre teacher made me listen to it because she wants me to sing Hold On for college auditions... and I think it is such an amazing CAST RECORDING, and a beautiful symbolic show!

Fly With Me... although it's not an original cast recording, it is the ONLY recording of this show, recorded live at Columbia University... the score itself is great (Rodgers & Hart), but the recording itself is bad...

The Producers- it is totally a show that you have to experience. Not very many singable moments!

COCO. The sound quality is atrocious.

CATCH MY SOUL. A musical version of OTHELLO. (I think not)

JIMMY. Why did they record it? Why did I buy it?

TITANIC. I hated the show, why did I buy the recording?

PACIFIC OVERTURES. I had a sinus headache when I saw the show and thought I should give the score a fair chance. The recording confirmed my opinion: Two hours of kabuki-style music is probably what gave me the headache to begin with.

Fiddler on the Roof and Joseph. Both just annoyed me. I like Joseph, but on the recording I got the narrarator had a horrible voice.

I like the Canadian cast of JOSEPH (except for the narrator). Donny Osmond is the best Joseph HANDS DOWN!!!! I wish I could get my hand on the video soundtrack the released in England for a while.

SarahHIYE, I thought THE SECRET GARDEN was one of the most dreadfully, boring shows I ever sat through.

I have the cd and the only song I really like is The Girl Has Lily's Hazel Eyes (or something like that.)

I bought THE FULL MONTY a few years back and it didn't do much for me. Perhaps I should listen to it again?????????

I think I win: someone recommended the Zanna, Don't! recording to me...and I foolishly bought it. WHAT WAS I THINKING? I can't even try to sell it because I don't think anyone would buy it.

KuhnKrazy, I really liked Moby Dick, although I think it was definatly something you had to experience to appreciate - it was an utterly insane show, so the live cast recording is often a bit difficult to understand!

As for cast albums:
The Producers (though I haven't seen the show yet)
Thoroughly Modern Mille (Bored me to tears, and sounds too much like a cheap Anything Goes rip-off)
Notre Dame de Paris OLC (just utter crap)
Nostferatu (sp?) by Bernard J Taylor (Wanna-be Phantom rip off)
Songs from Aida (why was this even made?)
Marie Christine (again, I haven't seen the show, and haven't had a chance to properly listen to the album as much as it probably needs. Not an easy album to love)

I never regret anything.

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

I really don't regret buying any cast albums, but the one I have not listened to in years is "Runaways".

I actually love Marie Christine for some reason. Though...it might have my obsession with Medea that year of college!

I would also have to agree with someone else above...but I didn't really enjoy Zanna Don't.

I remember the days when there were no OBC recordings period. Either you bought the sheet music or you bought a double sided record put out by someone in the cast or by some other person who was signed to record a song. I wish we would have had cast recordings witrh original orchestrations from the 1920s to 1943.

Both versions of "Mattress"

Into the Woods (revival). I bought it because I wanted to get into Sondheim. The first few minutes of the opening is kind of catchy, but the rest all sounds the same.

I do love ASSASSINS, though. That's a great recording!

South Pacific...after I was in it, I noticed how awful it really is.
the Jason Donovan recording of Joe and his Jacket (Joseph, paraphrased)
The Secret Garden, I truthfully don't enjoy most of it.
The Beautiful Game....plain bad over-emphasized accents, being Welsh I recognize fakes when I hear them.

as for "SOUNDTRACKS"...I'd say the only "SDTRK" I regret buying is Tony Kushner's "Angels In America"...I thought the music they used for the movie version was audibly the worst collection of instrumental drivel ever compiled onto one cd. It strikes me as if Thomas Newman just wrote a whole bunch of crap the day before and put it together that night.....total CRAP!

(thank you) *bows*
