Posted: 6/14/10 at 7:19pmOn the "Rent" OBC recording, you can hear Collins (Jesse L. Martin) say something at 1:41 in "Life Support". It sounds kind of like, "Amen", which could make sense, but I wasn't sure if it was that or a sound error. Is that supposed to be there?

1987 ANYTHING GOES recording has my favorite.
Right around 1:22-1:25 in "Anything Goes" when the tap sounds come in, people starting whooping a little in the background. Maybe they told all the dancers to do it, but only one comes in and kind of goes, "Yeah, woo!" and that's it.

Does anybody else think Aaron Tveit sounds strangely robotic at 0:52 in the I'm Alive Reprise? I don't know if it's just me haha
That's auto-tune. There is SO much auto-tuning going on in N2N album. That was the first one I noticed. There are a few pretty noticeable blips during I Am the One for JRS especially on "fine for so long now" and "wont let go." The background vocals during Wish I Were Here are definitely auto-tuned, but it may have been intentional. Alice has a moment during The Break when she sings "asked you just what did it" but it's WAY more subtle than the others.
On the WICKED album, Idina doesn't hit the low note right during For Good when she sings "it well may be..." Also, her very last note in Defying Gravity is a teeny, tiny bit flat (it's barely noticeable unless you really pay attention, you can hear a little bit of a clash with the ensemble).

On the A Little Night Music OBCR, I believe there are some chairs squeaking and music turning throughout the entire recording.
There's a terrific voice crack on the the OBC of Follies during Who's That Woman.
On the OBCR of A Chorus Line, it sounds like someone whispers "Switch with me." right before they sing One.

Posted: 6/14/10 at 10:49pmThere's a beep right before the entr'acte on Mamma Mia!'s CR that always gets me. Especially on shuffle.

Posted: 6/15/10 at 12:10am@BNN2: Someone told me that the crack Who's That Woman? is Ethel Barrymore Colt, but I can't be sure. I love that track, even if the entire dance break is missing.

I've always wondered whether Barbara Streisand crazy voice crack at the end of 'Don't rain on my parade' was an intentional acting choice or not.
On the WSS Film soundtrack one of the jets sings 'The jets are going to have their WAY tonight' whilst the others sing 'The jets are going to have their DAY tonight' (Or the other way round?)
And the entire OBCR of Promises Promises. Still love it though.

Posted: 6/15/10 at 8:21amIn Frank Loesser's GREENWILLOW, the orchestra's trumpets break up during the finale's final note, a jarring ending to such a gentle score. Why didn't they re-do the final bar and splice it in? I guess everyone was tired at the end of the recording session.

Also on the Syphonic Miss Saigon, Just after Joanna Ampil (Kim) sings "I will not cry I will not think. I'll do my dance, I'll make them drink"**** (Movie in my mind) there is a horrid bassoon/ horn squark (misses and falls off the note) in the following bars of music which has always killed the mood which has just been set in the song.... a bit like fingers down the blackboard the first time i heard it

Posted: 4/12/12 at 6:43pmNever knew about this thread... WHen I was a kid, I'd hear something and assume my CD was broken--a few times I'd buy multiple copies (little did I know that scratches on CDs rarely make those sounds). Like on the Chicago original cast album (any edition I learned lol) during one of the MC spoken introductions there's a loud "click"... Luckily I'm (ever so slightly) less anal about those things now 15 years later.

Posted: 4/12/12 at 10:22pmIn the OBC of THE SECRET GARDEN, during "Lily's Eyes" Patinkin comes in at the wrong time. I think it is on the final, big "She has her eyes" when he sings the "She" with Westenberg and then stops.

Posted: 4/13/12 at 4:55pmNot sure if this was mentioned yet or not, but I was listening to the Beauty and the Beast OBC yesterday and during the Transformation at 2:19 you can hear Susan Egan or someone laughing or sighing or something. It might even be an instrument, I'm not sure, but it's something.
