I have a question concerning cast recordings and the new digital age. I have two particular cast albums that for some reason or another, will NOT convert to my PC to put on my iPod and it's driving me crazy. I've gone and gotten both of them rebuffed and still to no avail. It leaves me to wonder, if there are other cast recordings that for some reason or another will not play on the CD Rom ever?
This may sound stupid but I have purchased 3 copies of the revival cast of "Kiss of the Spider Woman" and all three copies will not play on my PC. I can get it to play on my DVD player if I fast forward through part of the intro and then just take it from there. Otherwise, I'm screwed. Also, this seems to be the case with my Patti Lupone edition of "Sunset Boulevard". I haven't tried repurchasing that one yet, though. Only due to my problems with "Spider Woman".
True, I have other casts of these shows so it doesn't bother me terribly. But it IS annoying to own an album you can't play all the time, no?
Am I alone here?
What revival cast recording of "Kiss of the Spider Woman"? To my knowledge there is only the OLCR and the Vanessa Williams one (which isn't a revival). The OLCR works fine on my cd rom/ipod.
oh my bad. i meant the Vanessa Williams one. i got it for Stokes and it won't work for me
My OLC Recording of Sunset Boulevard works fine on my ipod...
The Vanessa Williams Kiss of the Spider Woman CD won't play on my computer either. No program recognizes it and no program will play it. I too purchased two copies of it just to check if it was a bad CD. Same results.
I have an used copy of the Vanessa Williams Kiss of the Spider Woman CD and it plays perfectly fine in my computer and my iPod.

I recently tracked down a copy of this CD, and it doesn't play for me, either. It's not the biggest pain ever, given that I don't care for the CD that much, but it's annoying that something I spent a fair amount of time and money tracking down won't play on my computer. Especially given that I don't have any other methods of playing a CD at school right now.
