What cast recordings do you own that you hardly listen to? It would probably be The Boyfriend and Big River for me...
man of La Mancha with Stokes
Saturday night Fever
Flowers for Algernon (I liked the book, so it didn't seem like such a bad idea . . .)
Ok, hold up. Is this a thread about cast recordings we hate? Or is it about cast recordings we hardly listen to? 'Cause I know there are certainly cast recordings I hate, but I still listen to them. (C'mon, we're theatre folk, we're weird like that.) Anyone feel the same way?
Don't kill me but...
WICKED
I was so excited for it and bought it the first day it came out!
I can't stand to listen to it. I'm seeing it in MAY so I hope that makes me enjoy it more!

I hardly listen to Wicked as well. I don't dislike it, but there is better stuff to listen to.

No a Disney fan, Jon? I refuse to buy B&TB and Lion King but love Aida... in fact "A Step Too Far" is playing now!
By no means do I hate them, but I hardly ever listen to Phantom, Miss Saigon, Piazza, The Hutchback of Notre Dame and the Rocky Horror Revival CD.

Annie and Bye Bye Birdie.
i listen to aida on occasion, and there are tracks in the beauty and the besat i enjoy (especially "me", singing it is so much fun) but there is just so many other things i'd rather be listening to. I also have flat out refused to purchase the following;
the light in the piazza(disclaimer: its just because i don't sing that high and i prefer cd's with a part i can sing along to)
spelling bee(i'm sure its hysterical in person)
the woman in white
any jukebox musical (if i want to hear and elvis song i'll listen to elvis sing it)
Ok ok, I'll jump in. I hate Caroline, or Change. It's a task and a half to listen to those two, long, dull, CDs. I wish they had made a highlights version that cut out all of the little rich boy's whining. Ugh!
The Producers.
Sure, it's cutesy pootsy when you see it in person, but I don't enjoy it that much on its own...without Nathan or Matthew I should say!

the original Godspell recording. hate the voices. love the 2000 off bway cast cd tho and the London studio recording.
I know people will disagree, but I simply cannot stand listening to Avenue Q. I try, believe me, I try, but it's so musically repetitive and uninteresting that I just give up. I'm sure it's hilarious on stage, but honestly, it just doesn't work for me on the CD.
I must admit, whenever I do listen to The Producers (rarely), I usually get pissed off because The Full Monty so deserved Best Score that year. So I switch it off and put on my Patrick & the boys.
