Well, I saw 'Marguerite' but would never choose to see it again. But as most of the problems were with the book and the melodrama and the flinging paper around, and the score was the stand-out part, I would definitely listen to the cast recording over and over again.

Oh yes they do! Almost every day!
Weez gives a classic example ('Maruerite'), great to listen to but not nice to see!

I liked several of the songs from the Wicked cast recording (especially the opening number, "What Is This Feeling," "Dancing Through Life," and "Thank Goodness"). But I was really disappointed when I saw the show, because I thought it would be amazing based on what I'd heard. The script was really annoying, and the characters behaved in strange, illogical ways, and then there was all that stuff about animals.
Then there are two shows that have it the other way around-- shows where I liked the live show but didn't like the cast recording. One is "Hairspray" (I have issues with some of the leads' vocals) and the other is "The Lion King" (still terrific, but it's such a visual show that just listening to the recording is missing something).
