Bernadette as Brenda could work(remember she played the jewish mother in "all in the family" with michael douglas, she was great!) they could change the role for her a little although i see her as elise too

Bernadette was in the movie "It Runs in the Family."

"All in the Family" was the name of the TV series starring Carrol O'Connor. Although, Bernadette was on an episode of that, too.
