Casting for The Wedding Singer

I found out Monday night before seeing Altar Boyz that Kevin Kern is going to be the swing for the two male leads (Robbie and ..?), with his last day in ABz being the day before Thanksgiving.

Has any casting aside from Stephen Lynch as Robbie been announced yet? And since I've never seen the movie, what's the other male lead in the show?

*hugs Kevin*

I love that. Like, alot. Could the other male lead be Glenn? Or Sammy? I can't decide.

So then Felicia is either Holly or Linda.

I wish they would just announce it all ... now.

Jason Antoon is playing Jimmie Moore (the other male lead), Robbie's arch rival wedding singer.

They made that part into the other lead? That's surprising, since that part was so small in the movie.

re: Casting for The Wedding Singer

I'm assuming they changed the plot around a little and expanded his part.

For instance, in the movie, Rosie is just a woman that Robbie gives voice lessons. In the musical, apparently, she is his grandmother.

I believe Richard H. Blake is the other male lead. He is Link on Broadway now, and is leaving to do Wedding Singer

Bumping this thread back up.

I just found out from a very reliable source that David Josefsberg is going to be playing Dave (? - I think it's Steve Buscemi's character in the movie) in the show. re: Casting for The Wedding Singer

I LOVE SO MUCH that they cast David. He's so hilarious, and so is that character. David's such a spirit on stage, and will make the show that much more enjoyable.

This cast is going to be so great.

I can't wait to see this show. Rumor has it it's this year's HAIRSPRAY. re: Casting for The Wedding Singer One can only hope...

re: Casting for The Wedding Singer

I heard that the producers are trying to distance themselves from HAIRSPRAY with this project, as they are two completely different genres of music. But, critically, I hope it does as well as HAIRSPRAY did.

Sidenote: I used to live in Ridgfield, where THE WEDDING SINGER takes place.

re: Casting for The Wedding Singer

I recall hearing something about Leslie Kritzer being up for a part in this show. Can anyone confirm this, or did I just make it up?

re: Casting for The Wedding Singer

I don't recall having heard anything about Leslie being tied to the project, because I think we would've heard about it more now, since she's doing TP.
