Catch Me If You Can - To Hit A Broadway Stage - This Next Spring

Catch Me If You Can, the new musical from the Tony Award-winning Hairspray songwriting team of Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman, will arrive on Broadway in spring 2011.

A representative for the Broadway production confirmed to Playbill.com that rehearsals for the musical adaptation of the DreamWorks film of the same name (and the autobiography by Frank Abagnale Jr. and Stan Redding) will begin rehearsals in January 2011. A theatre and exact dates of production have not been announced. Hal Luftig and Margo Lion will produce the Broadway venture.

I have 2 or 3 of the recordings from its very successful Seattle try out and I think it sounds great. With almost a 2 year period to work on it before Broadway it wil be sensational.

The only songs I've heard is Fly, Fly Away and The Jet Set but they are very good. Wonder what theatre they are aiming for?

Was slightly confused by the title of this thread - I took it to mean Spring 2010 at first.

This show has been on my 'have got to see this eventually' radar for a while, so I'm quite glad they're taking their time with it. Hopefully it will make for a stunning show (and give me time to save for a return trip to NYC - does anyone reckon ticket prices will reach $150 by next Spring?)

Seen some shows in my time....

I didn't care much for the few songs I heard from this and the movie never particularly excited me but it will still definitely be on my "to see" list for next year, primarily due to the presence of Aaron Tveit.
