Chad Kimball replacement in Memphis still TBD? Stunt Casting?

He meant the movie musical adaptation.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

C a show: """I never heard the story about Clay Aiken, so I asked one of the producers of 'Memphis' and I'm told that Aiken was 'never approached or considered.'"""

Clay was first choice for Broadway. He obviously wouldn't be interested in the movie if he turned it down on Broadway.

Saw Memphis again yesterday, still as amazing as ever! I asked Chad's new understudy Kevin Massey about who is replacing Chad and he said that it will not be him and they are currently still in the process of casting a new Huey. Hope whoever they get is as good as Chad...each time I see it I am more and more amazed by how talented that man is.

Sally Struthers is the obvious choice.
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal "I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello

madbrian, Norbert is a brilliant idea. He reads a tad on the old side for the part, but he would be great (and sadly is now free, although I don't think he would actually do it unless the show really is closing in January and he was just filling in for a couple of months).

Adam Pascal, on the other hand, would seem a bit miscast to me. I'm having a hard time visualizing him as an illiterate Southern country boy in the 1950s.
"What was the name of that cheese that I like?" "you can't run away forever...but there's nothing wrong with getting a good head start" "well I hope and I pray, that maybe someday, you'll walk in the room with my heart"

I think Adam's voice will sound incredible with the score. But obviously his performance will be so completely different from Kimball that it might throw things, for better or worse.

But there is no debate here. This thread might as well become about debating the merits of Adam in the role. It isn't speculation, it IS happening FOR SURE.
