Rumor has it Charlayne will be taking over as Clara in The Light in the Piazza National Tour. Variety also mentions Valerie Cherish is in talks for Margaret. Wish them both the best of luck!

Valerie Cherish??? NO WAY!
She'll be great....when she walks in on Clara and Fabrizio, instead of that nice Act 1 end crescendo, she can screech "I don't need to see that!"
Random humour.

It's not random. Look at the first person's signature and then look at the joke. Also, why are they replacing so soon? How many cities did they do? Only two so far, right? I know I'm probably not right.

What "Variety"???? I get Weekly, Daily, and online editions of Variety - and there is nothing in any of them referring to this.
Also have been to the show in S.F. and Cincinnati - and not a peep about this from anyone connected with the show.
WHAT are you talking about?
Charlayne Vivika?
Really? I mean - come on.

It's. A. Joke.
Wow, my emotions just plummeted and went right back up. Don't ever do that again!
I have no idea who Charlayne Vivika is. But according IBDB, she's never done a Broadway show.
Well, according to herself, she's the best thing since (insert name of female theatre legend here).
Dottie, you don't know Charlayne???
Why she's one of BWW's most celebrated sock puppets!
I'm shocked...
...but not surprised...
I frequently talk to Elena, and she WILL be staying with the tour. There is no news of her leaving at all! She is having a great time and loves the cast, a little homesick at time, but that is normal! No replacements will be occuring at all, at least for a while!

Best12, considering I've been here for 3 years, I'm surprised I haven't heard of her either!!
But I do know who Valerie Cherish is, and last I heard, she was in a B&T tour of Evita.
Dottie---Search for Charlayne Vivika on the BWW threads, if you want a good laugh.
Craziness.
Thanks, Best12. I did just that. How I missed any of those posts is beyond me. I must have been living under a rock!
Dottie---If I'd-a been smart... I would have crawled under that same rock with you.
This is a good example of "ignorance is bliss."
I will admit, some of those posts gave me a laugh.
I must have been under that same rock!
lol
All for Laura, from what I hear, there are a group of us under that rock!

All I know is both Elena and Christine better be there when it comes to Boston!
I happen to think charlayne Vivika is one of the UNSUNG treasures of the American Theatre....
I've been tres occupee these past few days so I didn't have time to respond to this completely false rumor until now. Let me set the record straight! The role of Clara is one that I have been dying to play since first I auditioned for it...oh...way back at the beginning. In fact, I was set to play the role until that bit--, that less talented than I Celia with the slightly famous brother got the part. I was out of the country performing the titular role in Evita when Scarlett or Maureen O'Hara (or someone from that family) got offered MY part and took it to Broadway. This Shadow chick is doing a (probably bus and truck) TOUR, and that for me was never an option, as the Great White Way is my goal, not playing somewhere out in the sticks or boonies. Good luck Elena, especially in getting rid of that pesky British accent, and the rest of you, I will be performing on Broadway within the next 16 months. XXOOXX!!!
Love to you all,
Charlayne :)
Charlayne,
Are you up for Dot in "Sunday"? I think you would make a great Dot especially if James Barbour plays George (although they'll probably go with a more obvious choice like Michael Cerveris).
