RIP.
Never saw him live, but I cherish his presence on his many cast albums.
(per ATC, by the way.)
Oh no! What a sad day. He was actually a friend of my family's. We all laugh when he told this story:
He was in the middle of rehearsals for Hello, Dolly! and was given his song "It Only Takes a Moment". When asked by I think Jerry Herman what he thought of it, Reilly said, "It's no 'Over the Rainbow'". God, we will all miss him.
Oh dear. What a loss. He was a wonderful performer who will be missed.
I'm so sorry to hear this.
Very sad loss. Rest in peace, Mr. Reilly.
so sad to hear that.

where did you hear that?
I did a Google search. Wikopedia already has an updated biography which says...
"...he died May 25, 2007 of complications from pneumonia after a year long illness."
Sad news. He will be missed. My sympathy to his family and friends. May he RIP.

can you imagine the party?
Carol Channing, Billie Hayes, Fannie Flagg...
Oh my. I adored him.
R.I.P.
I had a feeling about this, since the last time I saw him at the video store, he didn't look well at all.
I'll miss the laughs...
Brilliant timing and wit like that is so rare.
Loved his remarks on THE GOLDEN AGE OF BROADWAY.
He was the real thing.
Love to Family and Friends.

When I was a young actor in the sixties, the highlight of my week was the Sunday morning class in musical comedy technique with Charles Nelson Reilly. Later on in my career, we became friends........will miss him
He was quite wonderful. He did EVERYTHING! And everyone loved him.
I am not alone in thinking that he made Gandhi look like a child pornographer. (SNL)
Rest in peace, CNR!
Very, very sad. RIP, CNR.

.... This ****ing sucks....
Ironically, a new documentary about him is currently going thru the film festival circuit.
It's simply titled "The Life of Reilly": http://charlesnelsonreilly.com/
Here's the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukjH3FSYdjE
Actor Charles Nelson Reilly was the focus of SXSW doc "The Life of Reilly," which had its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival & Conferencel. The film takes a look at Reilly's critically acclaimed stage show that he performed over 400 times recounting his life with often dark hilarity. Unfortunately, Reilly was too ill to make the premiere, but the crew from the film threw a party for him in his absence. Left to right: rock band L7's Donita Sparks who did music for the film, Bob Fagan (producer), Carrie Heckman (executive producer), Wrye Martin (producer), Barry Poltermann (co-director), Frank Anderson (co-director), John Murphy (executive producer), Jesse Trott (assoc. producer).
hopefully hes in a better place!!

Such a talented, funny man.
He had that rare gift of making you feel like you knew him. He had such a personable personality as a star, as if he were an old friend who just happened to be on your TV set. When I was a kid, he was EVERYWHERE on television...
Hoodoo in "Lidsville."
"Match Game."
...and even dressed up as a giant singing & dancing banana in the Bic Banana marker commercials that ran on Saturday mornings.
He gave us lots of laughs, and lots of memories.
He will be greatly missed.
Charles Nelson Reilly was one of the wittiest actors ever. I also loved his singing "It Only Takes a Moment" from the OBC of HELLO DOLLY. He was truly one of a kind and I will miss him.
