I went to the box office after 1pm today to see if they had any rush tix for the 6:30pm show. The b.o. guy told me, "you should have been here this morning."

Typically not even half the morning line receives any rush tickets, though of course there are statistically anomalous days, so it all depends on your definition of "realistically".

Anyone rush in the last few weeks? I will be rushing next Saturday and am wondering when people started showing up.
Thanks!

You want to be first in line or simply be able to get 2 separate singles for either performance?

It's amazing how the box office staff at the Lunt is still that blunt and rude after all these years. Once when I asked if they had rush during Mermaid a woman said "Why would we? We're selling. You should just buy a regular ticket."

Preferably first. I know nothing is guaranteed, but it's for my birthday, so we want the best chance of two seats together for the evening show.
Thanks!

You realize that the rush line is not offered full-view pairs, right?

Yes, I am aware, and that's fine. I just really want to get a feel for when people start showing up so I can plan accordingly.
Thanks so much!

I'd recommend 6AM then.

What about just getting a single rush ticket with possibly non obstructed view?

susieqt: if it's your birthday and you are willing to line up at 6 AM, couldn't you go to Dolly? It's your birthday and you really should see a good show.

One would presume that the OP has already chosen their desired show.
For anyone wanting to rush Charlie, I would suggest getting there at 7. It's worth the wait, I got the third row to the right, and not even that far to the right. I could see the whole stage. Charlie gives out amazing rush tickets if you're early or maybe even if you're not?
Some woman rushed later than my friends and I and was in the second row right in front of me so... Maybe you'll get lucky and get amazing seats later?

If I want a pair of tickets for tomorrow's matinee (seated separately is fine), how early would you recommend that I get to the box office? Thanks!

A sliding range of 6:30 - 8:00 depending on how close to sold out the performance is.

I rushed on a Saturday two weeks ago - I showed up at 7 and was first in line. Next person showed up about a half hour later. Was able to get two tickets together for the night show.
Hope this helps!

Hi all, just some info on my experience this morning. I arrived at the box office today (Tuesday September 12 2017) at 8:00am and was first in line. The next two girls did not join the line until 8:50am - I was on my own for so long that I started to doubt whether there was a show tonight or not. When the box office opened at 10am there was still only the three of us waiting. I got a seat right in the middle of row J in the orchestra! The other two girls were able to buy 2 tickets each and all together but I'm not sure where they were seated.

Arrive early enough ( note that it's Halloween weekend ) and at 10AM you will be offered either 1 or 2 tickets, depending on how many you need, with seats being possibly partial-view and possibly not-together.
