Cheapest current show?

I would like to go into the city soon on a budget, what is the cheapest current show that would have tickets for cheap? I am not a TDF or Seat Fill member. I am willing to rush as well, but I would not like to see shows that are classics (wicked, Bronx tale, kinky) because I wouldn't like to double see. Suggestions? Dear Evan Hansen or Hamilton would be ideal if there is a way to get deep cheap tickets to those.

The only way to get cheap tix for DEH or Hamilton is through their lotteries which are very difficult to win.

I don't see how either Kinky Boots (less than 5 years) or Bronx Tale (just celebrated it's one year anniversary) are classics, but I understand about not wanting to see something again. Perhaps, it would be easier to tell which shows you highest on your wish list -- that would be easier for us to attack.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I didn't mean just Hamilton or dear Evan Hansen, but I wouldn't like to repeat the very popular shows currently on (phantom, wicked, those types of things), and kinky boots and Bronx tale were more things that I've already seen. I'll try anything besides like, home for the holidays. And I don't want to repeat Spongebob.

If you want to see a play you could do Farinelli and the King - they have $32 regular seats as well as $32 rush. SpongeBob has $30 rush which tend to be available hours after the box office opens. Those are the ones you can get for below $35 I can think of right now that don't have an age requirement (e.g. under 30), club member status (e.g. LincTix, HipTix) or lottery wins.

EDIT: Shoot, I just saw that you don't want to do SB! You could also try TodayTix rush for Latin History for Morons which comes out to about $36.

I've been consistently seeing great deals on StubHub for The Band's Visit on the day of show -- e.g., right now there are left center orchestra row O aisle seats for $40 for tonight's show, and I regularly see rear mezzanine for $20. My wife got a good ticket -- right orchestra row P aisle -- several days in advance for $75, which is still a great deal. That whole row was for sale, and when she went the rest of those seats were empty. So, my sense is that some scalpers bought a lot of tickets on speculation and are having trouble moving them -- which creates a great opportunity for the rest of us.

Wow Andy51 that's really helpful - I've been wanting to see the show for cheap and didn't even think to check StubHub before the show a la Dear Evan Hansen. Just saw a rear mezz listing for $18 for tomorrow.

I've seen this for Meteor Shower too (like $25 orchestra seats) if you're interested in seeing that as well. You might be able to try this for DEH since you really want to see it but it's more of a 'check 30 minutes before curtain then run to the theater' thing. They've had issues with double-listed tickets though so keep that in mind.

Home For The Holidays is definitely the cheapest.
