CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL Previews
 Mar 23 2026, 11:46:14 PM

Saw this tonight. Definitely will grab a Tony or three-- the costumes, set, and lighting are insanely impressive. The choreography definitely stands out, but I have no base of knowledge for ballroom or drag culture and loved it. I'm queer but this subculture isn't my domain and I had a blast!

Intermission was an all out nightmare for restrooms, so I'm glad I didn't go. I was seated right in front and people were pouring out after the intermission had ended and had to be

MOULIN ROUGE! Broadway Casting Thread
 Feb 26 2026, 10:54:00 AM

Rumor from Reddit (I know), the ticket concierge clickbox on the moulin rouge website says Megan thee Stallion will be on as Zidler (?) from March 24th until mid May. Huge if true. I'm on mobile but took the screenshot for myself

London Recs - Next Week
 Feb 19 2026, 11:48:52 AM

Starlight Express is extremely worth it! If you can get the cheaper trackside seats, i think those are the beat for a first viewing so you can see the entire show without them racing behind you, causing you to miss anything. Stoppard’s Arcadia is always a good choice too from your list!

ALL OUT: COMEDY ABOUT AMBITION Reviews
 Dec 24 2025, 12:26:31 AM

The best part of this show was the stage door after. I understood why some of the jokes were funny. I even smiled a bit. the Laurence music was amazing. But not a single joke landed. The audience felt tepid the entire time for the matinee. I can't imagine being one of these amazing comedic talents onstage reading this slop, and probably knowing it's slop. But good for everybody for farming the check, I can't even blame them. Also, I could tell there was some deeper messages (ie ne

Yes, it was announced  during one of the commercial breaks on the monitors inside that Cats @ The Jellicle Ball is getting more life... I didn't see much else said other than the ad for it however. It was on the screens on the sides after some of the childhood dancing/singing vid

2025 Tony Awards Reactions Thread
 Jun 9 2025, 04:48:08 PM

I'm so late to shaing my reactions, probably because I was exhausted after being in the room all night last night but..

The Good:

> Maybe Happy Ending, Sunset, and Pirate's performances were my top 3 from this season, however...
> Hamilton is in a league of its own. I've never seen a room so thrilled at a performance for the Tony's. WOW. That was so thrilling, and as somebody who got into theater partially due to Hamilton I really loved the full circle

The 78th Annual Tony Award Nominations for 2025
 May 1 2025, 09:20:46 AM

The snubs of Helen J Shen and David Thaxton had me so surprised. Also no choreography for Sunset Boulevard?? I suppose most of the thrill least directional but still I think they deserved a nod

PURPOSE Reviews
 Apr 12 2025, 03:33:26 AM

Saw this tonight, I thought it was brilliant! I think the family drama is starting to become a bit oversaturated as a genre, but I love Jacob-Jenkins as a playwright, and even if act one dragged on act two felt much more dense and enjoyable! Kara Young really does brilliant work, always. Hopefully she snags a nom!

SMASH Previews
 Apr 3 2025, 11:40:20 PM

I don't even know where to start. I feel like I wasted my time tonight going, and it didn't even take much money or effort for me to be there.

I agree with the critiques of the set, but every single dress that isn't the silver Marilyn dress looks awful and cheap. The rivalries between the 3 ladies didn't have any rewarding payoff, and I only had one authentic laugh the entire show. I don't know how drunk the audience had to be to find any of this entertaining, but a

Broadway Flops you love that everybody else hates
 Apr 1 2025, 02:58:17 AM

I think "Bad Cinderella" is this for me. It's probably the hardest I've laughed in a Broadway theater, and I'd seen it 3 times in it's short run. I still listen to some of the songs to this day. It's so absurd that it's enjoyable. Andrew Lloyd never misses (Yes, even I can enjoy a few songs from Love Never Dies as well).

I think Tammy Faye was fine. I don't have a major issue with it because I didn't grow up in that era, and it just feels over

Does BC/EFA still do Easter Bonnet?
 Mar 12 2025, 05:29:51 PM

The  Easter bonnet competition was a national treasure, and I didn't even know they stopped it until just now- after Broadway Backwards. I went in its final year, I believe (2023?) and it was so silly and enjoyable, I'd bring a kid to it, unlike Boradway Bares/Bets and the flea. I hope they reconsider or come up with another initiative for next year. Though I'm glad to hear there's still spring fundraising going into Tony season!

Adam Lambert -Cabaret
 Mar 2 2025, 10:50:03 PM

This would become an impossible ticket for at least 2-3 months if Sabrina Carpenter at this point in her career took on Sally. I'm so here for it, but I don't know if the producers would want to sink in for that, or if she'd want to do that right before her part two of a tour.

Please forgive me if I'm missing that above is snark/sarcasm.

Oddly enough, the only people I've seen posting heavily about this are Ben Platt & Noah Galvin (who I believe are producers on this), and Olivia Puckett (an understudy in the show I just happen to follow. I would assume it's aimed at college aged people, but their social media ads are nowhere to be seen for me either.

Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 2/9/25

EDSOSLO858 said: "I'm surprised that not even a small handful of shows received a bit of a BroadwayCon bump? Folx in town for the weekend?"

I don't typically show up to this board to be a straight up hater, but I've heard nothing but negativity out of that con. As somebody who volunteered there, I have nothing positive to say about it either. It's basically a cash grab for the teen crowd who want to cosplay and pay to see random stars (Jen Collella an

The Teeth producer screwed the pooch
 Jan 29 2025, 11:35:00 AM

I enjoyed Teeth as much as the next guy, but the decisions made between Playwrights Horizons and NWS made it go from a top tier comedy gem hidden on Off-Broadway to a show that suffered from over-direction, an over-dose of shock value, and less than compelling advertising. I also think Playwrights smaller size gave it the feeling of being a very time sensitive event to see. I’m not sure where I’d place it after playwrights, but I definitely think adding so many elements hurt it. B

A WONDERFUL WORLD To Close on February 23, 2025
 Jan 26 2025, 05:54:08 PM

It's sad to hear, but I'm so surprised everybody is saying this was an expensive ticket to get or playing to filled audiences. I went to the Thursday matinee this week on a $25 student ticket, and I saw gaps in the audience, plus I got my rush ticket probably an hour after the box office opened and it was a front row, center orchestra seat. The show was fine, but nothing that struck any chords. I'd rather see Tammy Faye than spend another minute watching this at Studio 54. Hoping

EUREKA DAY Reviews - EXTENDED AGAIN!
 Jan 15 2025, 07:15:39 PM

I'm surprised nobody posted this, but a pleasent surprise for the understudy today was Jennifer Laura Thompson in for Jessica Hecht! she barely stuttered, I really enjoyed the show! Longer review later if I remember.

Poll: Best and Worst Broadway Show of 2024?
 Dec 15 2024, 11:48:42 AM

Some of the shows under best I'm surprised to see. On the flipside, on the worst end I can guarantee the dogpiling on Tammy Faye is only because it closed recently and nobody saw the worse shows (Patriots anyone? Most of the shows we've forgotten by now). If Lempicka closed recently I guarantee that would be the one getting all the hate. Not that I'm defending Tammy, it definitely wasn't the best but it doesn't jump out anywhere close to the worst shows I've seen as of

Whoopi Goldberg in ANNIE at MSG?
 Dec 15 2024, 01:16:56 AM

I've seen this both with Whoopi and her understudy earlier in the run, and I think Whoopi's comedic timing really enhances the role, but ultimately her understudy had the better performance and synergy with the cast. I agree with the others who have stated that Whoopi just saying things that probably are not in the script at times, but that's what makes her so hilarious in this production. As for the rest of the cast, I really love how the ensemble puts in the work for every group
