The reason given by the box office was that she is filming a movie and they won't "allow" her to perform.
I've never heard that one before, sounds like someone is choosing film obligations over concert performances. Most films don't shoot over weekends and I'm sure they'd allow her to oblige a previous committment. She probably just got paid more to work with Robin Williams.

You just really don't seem to like her, huh?
While it's disappointing she won't be able to do the concerts, at least there's enough advance notification.
I called the box office, they just said they couldn't really verify a "why" just that no more tickets will be sold for the event and that letters would be going out on what to do with the tickets.

Ahh..so she "maybe" canceled cause she's "probably" making a movie.

Ya know what...I don't blame her.
The amount of money she's making from the movie FAAAAAAR exceeds what she'd make from the concert.
I say, 'Atta girl.'

I have an agenda? I didn't cancel any concerts! Someone else posted in on her website.
Are you people that gullible to believe a movie would prevent her from doing a concert that's been booked for months?!
I don't blame her, as someone said, she'll get paid a heck of a lot more.

Posted: 5/2/05 at 3:49pmIt has nothing to do with gullibility - of course, it could very well be the reason. BUT, there's no way of knowing (at least from what you presented) and what I'm REALLY not willing to do is castigate someone for something that I don't know anything about - which you seem perfectly willing to do.

Wasn't there a rumor awhile back (when she was still in WICKED) that her record company wouldn't let her sign any other CDs (like WICKED) except the one she made (Let Yourself GO)?

Well Spooky, I apologize then. It just sounded like you don't really like her. I would guess her management will say that she had a conflict with her filming schedule and the concerts may/not be re-scheduled. I wouldn't mind seeing her sell out Carnegie Hall again :)
The performances were supposed to be at the Lenape Performing Arts Center (close to Philly area). A Sat/Sun concert.

what? I'm not talking about that, I was just talking the general tone of the initial post.
I didn't say anyone hated her.

Posted: 5/2/05 at 4:33pmLots of inconsistancies here. Like knowing she had a scheduling conflict why would she agree? To either? Movies can always "shoot around" individuals if there are prior commitments. A contract is not just something to cancel cos something better came along. There are penalties & even law suits that can evolve. Sorry but i don buy the whole set up.

That's interesting, that you make this claim--considering there wasn't ANY post about a cancelled concert on KC's website until 10 minutes AFTER you originally posted this thread here on bwayworld. I'm just saying. That's...interesting.

Relax...here's what I was told by TPTB from Lenape last Thurs. as it just happened.
Kristin's contract had the standard "60 day opt. out" clause, which allows an artist to decline a gig within 60 days of the date if a career enhancing opportunity is offered. She elected to take the 60 day. opt. out. This unfortunately happens from time to time and presenters hold their breath when they sign contracts that offer a 60 day clause, especially with a "Popular" gal like Kristen. I'm sure the box office has been told not to go into details but just offer their options.
We are booking a concert with the same type contract at Eastern PAC in Feb. Can't announce until it's contracted. But you can bet we will scramble for a plan "B" as time gets closer.
(They) Lenape PAC Marlton, NJ are waiting for the ink to dry on another contracted performer. I will let them announce who that is, if it's not already out there . But I am HAPPY about the new choice and will be there to cover for BW on 6/26.
