It's ok, we'll excuse him for a mistake. Sounds funny, though. Was it really bad?
Nah, it wasn't horrible. I think it's funny.

No, not too bad. You could notice it, but big f*cking deal. People do it all the time. Although, it is *really* embarassing!
I think Seth was just giving him a hard time because he could.
I don't remember, Chrys. How did he react?
Oh, I'm watching the Adam tape now. Seth's talking about Pity the Child.
Seth: Did you know you could sing that high?
Adam: pft. YEAH.
TGIF, have you ever heard "Herren's Underwerk" from KRISTINA FRAN DUVEMALA? It's a female duet by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, too.

Raúl laughed it off. He thought it was funny too. That was what was so great about that night. You saw that he wasn't some guy with a big stick up his ass. He wasn't perfect, and he wasn't afraid to laugh at himself when he messed up.
*laughs at Raul*
I love Chess! It is a wonderful. If you can get the Danish recording, I highly recommend it. It is much more complete than the London concept and the orchestrations are much tighter - "One Night in Bangkok" and "Nobody's Side" are fierce. Just awesome. There is a whole slew of material included here that wasn't on the London concept. Since I purchased the Danish recording, I have never once listened to the London recording, because the Danish one is the best - hands down - cast is just as good, and the completeness is awesome.

Is 'pft' a real word and is the Danish recording in English?

I don't get why Seth asked Adam that during Pitty the Child.
Probably so Adam could stroke his ego.
I love Chess... I saw about 3 years ago a production of it; the director basically put the songs in order to follow the story in the concept album... the dad's backstory was minimal... it was great! He did it as a period piece set in the middle of the cold war... that's the way it needs to be done.

Ok, does anyone else think that 'stroke his ego' sounds like...
nevermind.
Any, is the Danish CD in English? Is that a dumb question?
You know it does.
I think it might be, but I'm probably confused.

It is in English. But it is not cheap. I've been meaning to buy it forever but I have a hard time paying that much when it doesn't even have cast I would prefer.
The Danish cast recording is in English with an international, European cast. If you try to purchase the Danish cast recording, be careful, because there are two versions. One version that has a CHESS mega-mix song at the end, is less complete than the other one.
TGIF, KRISTINA FRAN DUVEMALA is fantastic. It's sung all in Swedish, but you can find the libretto on-line. It's about Swedish immigrants to the U.S. in the late 1800's. It's very expensive and difficult to find the recording, but it is outstanding.
I've been looking into buying a recording of it for a while, but I keep getting confused. A lot of people say there isn't really one that's good all-around. Anyway, what's the deal with that double-disk one? Too bad they couldn't record the benefit cast.
I've heard bits and pieces of the Danish recording. Freddie isn't that great, (not a fan of his Pity the Child) but Florence is amazing!
Yep, go with the Danish recording, definitely. Overall, not the most well-sung, but the most complete, well-orchestrated recording of the show there is!

I like the Swedish "Chess in Concert" recording (in English) as well. I haven't yet heard the newer (in Swedish) "Chess pa Svenska" recording, which I also understand is available on DVD.
Has the Danish cast album gone out of print? I was just looking for it online, and can't find it anywhere. Luckily, I have it already, but if it had been cheap I'd have bought a copy of the newer version w/ the mega-mix thing at the end.

Call Footlight or Colony- I got mine at Colony for $39.95!
I have the Danish recording and it is my least favorite. The orchestrations are scaled down considerably and sound almost cheesy. Freddie does the horrific open vowel sounds that are grating. Florence is excellent. There's one character who tries to do a terrible Texas accent in the second act for some unkown reason. The story was changed considerably and ends with Florence singing the final verse of Anthem. Yes, it is the most complete recording of the show and it is performed in English, but I found nearly every aspect of it to be inferior to the other recordings. My favorites are the Swedish concert and the original London recording. The recent Swedish-language production is also a good recording and I have the DVD as well. About once a year, I pick up the Danish recording thinking I'll enjoy it because it is complete, but am disappointed every time.
PS - Kristina Fran Duvemala is GORGEOUS. I don't know why there has not yet been an English language production. The score is breathtaking.
Mister Matt, at the end of CHESS in the original stage production in London, Elaine Paige came back on stage at the end and sang the reprise of "Anthem". There wasn't a dry eye in the house, including hers.

If I remember correctly, so did Judy Kuhn in the Broadway version.
^^ Yes, she did. It's not on the OBC recording, but it was a reprise:
"How do I live now? Where do I start? Etc."
