Chess in Concert CD

Is the Chess in Concert CD a quality recording of the musical? I have the London, Broadway, and Swedish recordings(Broadway being my fav) but apart from the Danish recording-which is hard to find-none are quite complete, especially the Broadway recording. I was hoping the concert was a more complete recording of the show. For those who have various versions of the show- compare this version with the ones you have or have heard.

the concert CD (from a concert in Sweeden) is basically the same songs as the London One, not much differences. It is "ok" but not great, although the sound quality is better than the Les Mis concert one.

My Fav. chess recording is the Danish one, It is very complete and has a few numbers on it that other recordings just dont have. If you dont have it, Try to get it, it is better than all the other recordings put together, espicially for the new bits like the press conference and the song done by the russians (cant remember the title, lol.)

I wish they had a recording of the Actor's Equity concert - they did one for Hair!

The Chess in Concert CD has some brilliant moments. Tommy Korberg is in his best voice during it and he rocks your socks. You also get one extra song, "Soviet Machine."

It pretty much follows the order of the concept recording. The Danish Cast is the most complete, especially if you can find one of the earlier pressings which basically has the whole show. Tracks were subsequently removed due to rights issues.

Couldn't agree more. The Swedish concert CD is all about Tommy Korberg, who sounds better than ever in the role. The rest of the cast is good too. If you're a fan of the show, get it. It's just one more version of the show to listen to!
