"Also, the Drury Lane is pretty small. It's not a storefront or anything like that but it is smaller (I think, not that I have that much experience or anything!) than most if not all Broadway houses as far as I know."
The Drury Lane has, I believe, about 1000 seats. There are a few Broadway houses with less than that. Most (but not all, obviously) are in the 1100-1500 range.
If I were a big bucks producer (or Broadway in Chicago) I'd get the owners of Water Tower place to put a big-ass marquee out in front on Michigan Avenue.
Agreed, you can't really see the marquee from Michigan Avenue. The only signage on Michigan Ave. for Xanadu was on a bus shelter with an arrow pointing to the theatre.
"Chicago is it's own incredible theater town right there smack down in the middle of the heartland. What a great city! I can see why Oprah likes to live there!" - Dee Hoty :-D
Fuerza Bruta is a brilliant show. Nothing stupid about it. Some of the visual imagery is absolutely breathtaking. De La Guarda was even better. I'd give anything for a sit-down production of De La Guarda at the Vic. They wouldn't even have to put the seats back in. But Rock of Ages would be a great idea for that venue as well.

During the Hair run, The Vic (Which also operated as a dance club called Clubland at the time) featured cafe tables on the lower levels with theater seating up in the balcony. I don't know if any structural changes have been made since then, but after the show every night, they removed the first few rows of tables and all patrons were invited to stay and dance.
I could see that set up working very well with any of these shows being discussed.
I assume that means they're going to move God of Carnage to a later date? God of Carnage was the main reason I was going to renew my season tickets. That sucks.

I understand why they put a christmas style show in at this time, but I still wish it had been either n2n, hair or west side story. I'll give it a chance though. why not, right?
There was recently an article saying the producers of God of Carnage decided not to launch a tour because they couldn't figure out how to make it profitable. It will only play outside of New York when the regional rights are released.
Yep Matt- it's just a shame the tour couldn't have been canceled earlier so we'd see it produced regionally this year. Now it'll have to wait till next year.
