The Chicago Tribune, after being swamped with corrections apparently, has corrected and re-listed the longest running "Broadway" shows in Chicago. It's an illuminating list.

do they have a long run show there? something that is not "broadway?"
in washington, dc it is Shear Madness....

I would like to see Chicago's list of longest running non-Braodway shows, which is even more impressive. I know Hellcab, Late Night Catechism, Tony and Tina, Blue Man Group, Forever Plaid, I Love You You're Perfect..., Naked Boys Singing and now possibly Awesome 80s Prom might be included. Anything else?
JRybka - Currently, I think the longest running Chicago show is either Late Night Catechism or Blue Man Group.

Posted: 7/2/07 at 6:43pmThat's a new production of SHEAR MADNESS. The original, at the "Mayfair Theatre" (a converted ballroom at the Blackstone Hotel) ran about 15 years, from the mid-1980's to around 2000. It closed because the hotel was shut down and the building condemned.
