Longtime "Chicago" swing Sharon Moore is now the second "Mama Morton" understudy...the first one being Donna Marie Asbury. Chicago
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
Sharon's played Mama before, she understudied the role in the 90s and went on. It's ashame Sharon has never understudied Velma on Broadway. She was a tour Velma understudy and performed the role. I always love me some Sharon.
I've been lucky enough to have seen Moore in all 5 of my visits to Chicago. Couldn't tell you what role she played every time, but she's had great energy all 5 times.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
The current Chicago cast list...according to Playbill Vault. The role of Mary Sunshine is being played by C. Newcomer, while Ryan Lowe is taking his Hawaiian vacation. Plus, Nicole Bridgewater is listed with the cast. I guess she had gone on vacation too. Chicago Cast List

For the person asking about rush, I rushed it the past Sunday for the evening performance. I showed up when box office opened and there were already about 50 people there, I assume because it opened at 12 on a Sunday? Anyway I got front row on the very far right. Not a bad seat and especially with so many people ahead of me.
Anyone seen "COVERS"? Jason Patrick Sands has surely turned into a big ole' HUNK. I don't remember him being that beefy. I guess Fosse does a body good!
I don't WANT to live in what they call "a certain way." In the first place I'd be no good at it and besides that I don't want to be identified with any one class of people. I want to live every whichway, among all kinds---and know them---and understand them---and love them---THAT's what I want! - Philip Barry (Holiday)

There was a point where he got really buff, there was even a thread about it, he was huge!
Or maybe he's always looked like that, LOL. Yummy nonetheless.

This is an inspiring story from Paul Vogt (currently playing Amos Hart in "Chicago"). from Playbill.com Paul Vogt

Apparently, Bianca Marroquin and Terra C MacLeod are headed out to the Phillipines to promote Chicago (according to Facebook). They are headed to Manila to promote the upcoming Chicago international tour, with a stop in Manila from December 2-21, 2014. If Bianca is out, then that means that Chicago on Broadway will have a Roxie understudy for any number of perfs. The current understudies are: Melissa Rae Mahon, Tonya Wathen and Anne Horak. I would LOVE to see Melissa as Roxie. I've seen Anne Horak on the national tour. The upcoming Chicago national tour starts once again This coming October. (per the national tour site). The (current) tour stops are: Oct. 7-12, 2014: New Orleans, Louisiana Oct. 13-14, 2014: Montgomery, Alabama Oct. 17-19, 2014: South Bend, Indiana (home of Notre Dame University) Oct. 21-26, 2014: Nashville, Tennesse (home of country music) Nov. 4-5, 2014: San Luis Obispo, CA Nov. 7-16, 2014: San Francisco, CA (Orpheum Theatre)
Dec. 2-21, 2014: Manila, Phillipines (The Theatre at Solaire)
Jan. 13-14, 2015: El Paso, Texas Jan. 15-18, 2015: Albuquerque, New Mexico Jan. 20-25, 2015: Kansas City, Missouri Jan 27-Feb. 1, 2015: San Antonio, TX (You know I'll be there for at least one perf.)
These are all the dates for now. from RC in Austin, Texas

I wish they'd send Amra for the tour just so we can get a Velma on Broadway.

I know what you mean. If AFW is renewed again in Jan. 2015, I think I'll implode or something.

I think that the revival choreography is much better...the book is better and so forth. The male ensemble's costumes/clothes are waaay better. Plus, you have the Weisslers producing the revival. Say what you will about the Weisslers (NEW VELMA!), but they've done something very right for the revival's success. In about a couple of months time, "Chicago" will surpass "Cats" formidable record as the second longest running Broadway musical.

Alas, Jason Patrick Sands and Brian O Brien's "Covers" BWW series is no more. Their Kickstarter campaign was unable to meet its goal. Still, it was a worthy and entertaining project.

What awesome news on the former Chicago cast members front! While Michael Cusumano and Nathan Madden are in the Broadway-bound company of "An American in Paris", Peter Nelson and Ryan Worsing are in the Paper Mill (headed to Broadway) production of "Can-Can." Tres magnifique! Can-Can

The 2014-2015 Chicago National Tour has been announce. In select cities: Bianca Marroquin as Roxie Hart--(New Orleans: Oct. 7-12); John O' Hurley as Billy Flynn-- (New Orleans: Oct. 7-12); Jason Patrick Sands as Billy Flynn---Montgomery, AL: Oct. 13-14 and South Bend, IN: Oct. 17-19. C.Newcomer is the tour Mary Sunshine, Roz Ryan is Mama Morton and Jacob Keith Watson is Amos Hart (never heard of him). I'm very suprised that most of this tour cast is unfamiliar to me,but some have previous Chicago tour experiences. The wonderful Lindsay Roginski is not listed as a cast member. Of course, Terra C MacLeod IS Velma Kelly. I'm thinking Ann Horak might be Roxie Hart from Oct. 13--on. As far as Billy Flynn is concerned, it's possible that Brent Barrett will be cast for any stops past Oct. 19th. Those three principals seems to be up in the air a little bit.

Bebe Neuwirth, Ann Reinking, Joel Grey and James Naughton are set to take part in the history making day of November 23, 2014, when "Chicago" surpasses "Cats" to become the 2nd longest running musical in Broadway history. Chicago Reunion

Bianca is amazing! You're in for a treat. She has done the show since about 2004, so she knows all the ins and outs of Roxie. Plus, she adds her own special touches. There are quite a few Bianca/Roxie videos on YouTube.

Bianca can be hit or miss. She's an amazing dancer/singer/actress, but at times she can be a lil over the top with mugging and whatnot. I, personally, prefer her when she's less over the top. But yes she's one of the best. Look her up on YouTube.
Lindsay Roginski filled in as "Roxie" during Bianca's last absence/vacation time. If not her, then one of the three Roxie understudies can do the job admirably: Tonya Wathen, Anne Horak or "Go-To-Hell" Kitty...Melissa Rae Mahon.
