Chicago w/Huey Lewis Tour

CHICAGO begins another tour in San Francisco beginning late October, with Huey Lewis headlining as Billy Flynn.

Did anyone see Lewis in the role on Broadway? How was his performance? I'm eager to see the show, unfortunately having no available opportunity to rush tickets while I was in NYC for a month. Tell me some things about his performance, please!

I'm afraid I'm a product of my generation and cannot place his voice in my head. What does it sound like? More specifically, what are some of his more distinctive on-air songs.

What made his performance solid? I'm excited!

See Back to the Future. I don't think you're THAT old, Eugene. re: Chicago w/Huey Lewis Tour

Are you taking about his body or his performance, jersey?
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

"He was solid!"

You've got to be kidding, right? He was the single WORST (and I am not just saying this for effect, it's just true) Billy Flynn Chicago has EVER seen. I almost cried when he did Razzle Dazzle cause he practically spoke-sung the whole thing, and missed a ton of notes!

I enjoyed Huey in the role. He had the swager and the presence needed to pull it off. He was great IMO. Of course I have always liked him re: Chicago w/Huey Lewis Tour He was VERY cool at the stage door.

Do we know how long he will be with the tour? Any other roles announced?

re: Chicago w/Huey Lewis Tour

Yikes, he looks very stiff and frightened in that video. Here's hoping he can loosen up a bit in SF. I really want to know who's playing Velma and Roxie before I but my tix.

Huey's alright. And it's not another tour, it's the same tour as it has been; they just took the rest of the summer off.

All I know for other cast members is that Terra MacLeod will be playing Velma

Showing my age...some popular Huey Lewis songs are:

If This is It
The Power of Love
Working for a Living
I Want a New Drug

His voice really isn't right for Chicago, but I've seen worse Billy Flynns.

Off the top of my head, George Hamilton - at the beginning of his run. He did improve over time.

And I thought Huey was better than Patrick Swayze as well.

Okay... As per an email I just received, the tour launches again way before the SF stop in late October. Also, Terra will not be for SF; but she will be playing Velma up until that point

That is pretty funny. I think Huey Lewis & the news toured with the band Chicago recently. I was trying to figure out why that was being discussed on this site.

So who will go on between Usher and him? An understudy for like a month?
