She also is still a very present costume designer in major motion pictures and she’s attached to the upcoming film adaptation of WICKED. She doesn’t just work for the stage. She has 2 Academy Awards which includes one for the recent film adaptation of MA RAINEY’S BLACK BOTTOM.

Fun to see these posts from a couple of years ago. I didn’t see the play but I always liked the scary scribbling lettering of the title and the two exclamation points. I hadn’t realized Dennis Patrick was in the cast. I also liked him on the gothic soap Dark Shadows. I just checked IBDB and Mr. Patrick’s character name was Philip Collins! The same last name of the family of Dark Shadows!

Adore Brody for posting that shot of Ann Roth working on MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM.
Just this past spring I worked closely with Ann on the upcoming film ARE YOU THERE GOD? IT'S ME MARGARET. At 90 she remains in a class by herself, brilliant, incisive, funny as all get out, and never one to suffer fools gladly even if that includes her director. Love that lady.
