Does anybody know if Chitty is being revamped for Broadway? I have heard bad things about the London production.

I think it's going to be a carbon copy of the London production. Hopefully, with more dancing, though.

Saw Chitty in London and it was quite a spectacle. When I was in London last month, a friend told me that Chitty will soon become the longest running show at the Palladium. That is a huge theatre and it has been there 3 years. I also heard from a friend who is a theater ticket agent that Chitty has about a 12 million advance here in NY. Just my opinion, but I believe Chitty will be around longer than any other show opening this season-- no matter what reviews it receives or awards it does or does not win. Hope all the shows do well. It was bad in London. At some points it's barely entertaining because some of it plays too much to the audience and the kids - boring. There are spectacle elements of it, but nothing great. I really really really hope they revamp it for Broadway, or I will be angry!

Is it like the movie? I remember watching it as a kid...

Yes, but the movie is better.

I think they'll definitely spice things up a bit for the Broadway production. They want to make sure it does well...LOTS of money invested in it.

Saw it in London....Michael Ball couldnt save it....Raul Esparza (god bless him tho) cant save it...they have the best of the best of Broadway, people will love it....but man oh man....what trainwreck of too much money and too much talent saddled with a HORRIBLE book and score....ah well....family's will flock to it, and everyone will applaud a flying car that required no more than a crane, some black sheets and perhaps a few well placed lights....
