massofmen,
Fat Pig was all set to go for Broadway. However, one of the backers pulled out at the last possible moment without enough time for the producers to find someone else. Therefor, they were forced to cancel the Broadway run.

So I saw this tonight and I was wowed. Great score, book and cast of characters. It would be a terrible shame if it doesn't make it to the big stage. I was with 5 and 4 of us loved it on one said it was okay. The audience seemed completely entranced also. Yhe first act needs some work but wow wow wow.

Saw it Saturday night. Loved it. The Queens Theater is very hard to find, even for us locals. But basically, it's tucked under the spaceships from the Men in Black, right near the Unisphere. And they have a free shuttle bus from the Mets subway stop.
Here's the plot: The six chix are comic book heroes, drawn by a twenty-something woman with an indie rock star boyfriend. Excellent fight scenes, aerial work, jazz dancing, and the kind of kick-ass girl-power rock anthems one would expect at a Joan Jett, Pat Benetar or Cyndi Lauper show.
We kept looking up at the band to remind ourselves this was live music, played by a foursome atop the scaffolding-type set. All the comic book images were projected below them on a 10-foot-high screen, augmented with shots from two live cameras.
Minimal scenery, and be sure to look for the guy under the bed who pushes it on and offstage. But costumes are outstanding, especially Lightning Girl, Mama-Mazing, and Blaze. Ironic that we saw it on the next-to-last day of New York Comic Con, which they mention frequently.
Special shout-out to Lourds Lane, who wrote the score and book and is also one of the six comic book heroes plus a part-time member of the band. Her electric violin on "Misfit," and Molly Tynes' acrobatics in "Amor," have to be seen to be believed.
My only complaint is the length. Act 1 was about two songs too long and the show ended too late for us to stop at the Lemon Ice King of Corona on the way home. Maybe Pammy has some tips for who's open late near the park?
In Queens, getting there is half the fun!

I saw this last Saturday. I went to NYC JUST to see Carrie in this, so sure I might be biased, but she was FANTASTIC. It would be a shame if she didn't continue with this to Broadway.
I went in knowing nothing but I really REALLY loved it. Sure, it has some work to be done but with the right work, it will be amazing. Very original and nothing like I've seen before. It really would be a shame if it doesn't move to Broadway! If you can see it, GO GO GO!
*spoiler alert*
each chix doesn't need their own whole intro song
