The stores have all their Christmas stuff out already so I guess it's that time again. Any new cds by musical theater people this year? Any favorites that I should consider? Thanks.

Any of the BC/EFA Christmas CD's are worth picking up. Not only are they fun they are helping out for a good cause.
I also truly love Michael Ball's Christmas CD
but my favorite of all time is ....suprise suprise.....
Linda Eder's CHRISTMAS STAYS THE SAME
JANE OLIVOR'S "Songs Of The Season"
The BEST Female Vocalist EVER!!!
Often compared to Streisand and Piaf (but, sounds nothing like either.)
Linda Eder says that Jane Olivor is one of the reasons she wanted to become a singer herself.

Yes, Michael Ball's CHRISTMAS album is very enjoyable to listen, too. Excellent and even unusual choices of songs included there.
His AVE MARIA is very solemn and powerful!

There was another cd from England called "Carols for the Children" or something like that. I will have to find it. It has the likes of Frances Ruffelle, Michael Ball, Michael Crawford, Elaine Paige and others from all the London Shows of the 80s. Les Miserable, Starlight Express, Phantom of the Opera, Cats.
I had it twice and twice it got stolen. I just found it again and have hidden it so no one can steal it and now I cannot find it. LOL LOL
I believe Michael Crawford's Christmas Album to be the best of all his solo cds. The song choices are so original and more religion based. And, no matter what anyone says about hating his voice, he sings the best version of O Holy Night you will ever hear, hands down. Its beautiful.

Oh well if we are talking about O Holy Night....
The best version of that song is by Steve Green (Contemp Christian Artist) who does a version of it with Birthday of a King. It is brilliant! Truly smashing!
I don't know if it's in print any longer, but I picked up a CD one year called A CABARET CHRISTMAS that is one of my favorites. Also, the first Barbra Xmas album is a must for her coked-out JINGLE BELLS and her belty AVE MARIA.
Anyone know if a new BC-EFA cd is in the works for this year? I loved last years, with Audra hummin and Jane K beltin!

Not only is BC/EFA's Carols for a Cure CD being released this year (available for purchase starting Saturday), but it is a 2-disc-er this time.
There was also a CD released 1994-ish by BC/EFA, worth it to hear Stro singing Christmas Eve in My Hometown.

Mr. Hankey's Xmas Classics from the South Park guys (Marc Shaiman included) is beyond belief...hysterical!!!

Yeah, I have the 2002 Christmas BC/EFA CD and its good!!
Jon, I think you mean SAVE THE CHILDREN which features a lot of the circa 1987-88 Broadway and London casts, as well as individual songs by some of the bigger stars (Ruffelle, Crawford, Wilkinson, Ball.)
It's a nice two-cd set.

I love Barbra's most recent Christmas cd. I also want to try and find some of the BC/EFA Christmas cds. Would I have to order them through the website?

Jon,
Did you know that there is video of SAVE THE CHILDREN featuring the same singers doing the Christmas songs with the cast of the show and in the production setting they were involved ( Michael Ball with the PHANTOM cast on the "Masquerade" staircase, Elaine Paige with the CHESS cast, Colm Wilkinson with the Les Mis cast on the barricades, Lea Salonga and Jonathan Pryce on the Miss Saigon set, etc., and solos by Sarah Brightman, Michael Crawford, Frances Ruffelle, etc., ?... There was a song finale with all the artists involved and you can see Bernadette Peters among the group.
I have both the video and the CD (which features more songs, with some very English carols) - I don't know why they don't re-release them, as the work has a timeless appeal and contains some great memories of productions in the West End.

THANK YOU!
I knew it was called something else.
I loved that cd. I did not know they made a video. I wish I had that.
Has anybody heard the new Barbara Cook cd, 'Count Your Blessings', yet? I just love her and will probably buy it just to add to my collection.
