Two options that are helping me feel better during both the heatwave, and the current, intensely insane Trump BS:
ZOEY'S EXTRAORDINARY CHRISTMAS on The Roku Channel (https://therokuchannel.roku.com/). Roku purchased the rights to all 25 episodes of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist from NBC. Shortly after, Roku created its version of Season 3 in the form of this Christmas movie. I've really missed the show, and I wasn't aware of the Christmas movie at all, so I'm very happy to enjoy both FOR FREE on Roku.
THAT CHRISTMAS on Netflix. Not a musical like ZOEY's, but a very enjoyable 2024 movie based on previously published short stories by Richard Curtis (known for "Four Weddings and a Funeral", "Notting Hill", "Love Actually", "War Horse [screenplay]", etc....) You can read the plot synopsis here. I LOVE this movie, as it both lifts my spirits, and puts me in a chillier, 'Cristmas-y' frame of mind during this very hot weather.
If you haven't already watched it, I might also recommend the short series Dash & Lily on Netflix. It's a burst of pure Christmas joy that has become a holiday tradition for me.
Thanks for the suggestion! Just added it to my watch list
Aw, I love Dash & Lily, super cute. I would recommend a Christmas movie called Love Hard starring Jimmy O Yang and Nina Dobrev. It's hilarious and doesn't follow the typical Hallmark (I just barfed) model of a boring white male who has a dog and a pickup meets the uptight city girl during Christmas. As a millennial woman I'm supposed to love those completely garbage movies but alas, i have taste ;)
Anyway, Love Hard on Netflix, you will love it!
