re: Clay Aiken

I think if he can act he would be amazing as Chris in Miss Saigon. It has a nice pop edge to it. He couldn't possibly sound much worse than Simon Bowman. I am not crazy about him.

re: Clay Aiken

I said on the Millie forums a long time ago that Clay, based on his voice (not on his looks or acting) could sing Jimmy's songs. Wasn't he sometimes criticized on American Idol for having a voice that was better on Broadway than in the competition? If he can sing and act, why not? My advice to him, which he won't read: take some acting classes and I'll see you on Broadway in a couple of years. re: Clay Aiken

re: Clay Aiken

how would portraying a character in a play or movie destroy everything someone stands for? I thought actors were trained to separate reality from what happens in the script.

He's honestly not my first choice to see play Mark, albiet a better option than Justin Timberlake... can you imagine the Tango Maureen with a built in wardrobe malfunction?

Why don't we cast the show with all American Idol personalities...

Justin would have to be Benny... (a small role after "From J 2 K" it's only right.)

Reuben would be Collins? or would that destroy everything Reuben stands for?

I go with the "not gay" gay kid from the first season as Angel.

oh YOU cast the rest... it's too much fun for one person!

re: Clay Aiken

I don't think you can judge Kelly's acting abilities from that movie. Anika Noni Rose was in it - how was she? Probably not much better - bad writing and bad direction and bad production values are not a conducive situation in which to judge someone's first acting endeavor. She has a totally amazing voice and in my opinion, both her voice and onstage personality are leagues ahead of Clay's. And I've seen him live.

re: Clay Aiken

He has a Broadway style to his voice unlike some of the popstars that have come to Broadway and DONT belong.

re: Clay Aiken

haha Kelly was terrible in that movie but she is Meryl Streep next to what I saw Clay Aiken do in those dumb Idol coca cola skits!

re: Clay Aiken

Clay actually studied musical theatre if I am correct (?) I thought that they mentioned that in an episode of American Idol. I definitely see him as a type to play Mark in RENT. That'd be really cool.

re: Clay Aiken

I agree Clay's voice is amazing. He has the "shiver" factor (some songs/notes give me chills).

However, I'm not sure about his acting ability. If he can prove himself in that area, he would be a huge draw (and big success) on a Broadway stage.
