I'll be seeing him in a couple of weeks and I can't wait! I saw his first tour (with Kelly) and was floored by his voice.
BTW, what is his song line-up like this time around?

He should have replaced Neil Patrick Harris in ASSASSINS.

It would be great to have another spectulative discussion on Clay's sexual orientation first.

Clay NEEDS to stay away from Broadway, or Musical movies.
Clay's voice has nothing on male Broadway stars like Norbert Leo Butz. Clay isn't all that.

I wouldn't mind seeing Clay on Broadway or in a musical movie.

I'm not sure how he would do on stage. All i know is there are definitely celebrities who were placed in roles who did worse than what he can bring to the stage. I'm going to see him in concert on Friday. I'm glad so many of you liked it because now I know that my money wasn't wasted.

if he can act, why not? His voice reminds me of Sam Harris and Sam has done some good stuff, especially JoJo in THe Life....like I said, if Clay can act, the voice can work on a stage

yeah - and if he can play a straight man convincingly - why not?
(somehow I doubt it, though, Possums!)...he has a nice enough voice - but I would have been appalled had he been cast instead of Neil in Assasins - OY!

personally, i have never seen him live or otherwise so i wouldn't know. But he does have a pretty good voice when it comes to his songs. I don't know if i can see him on broadway though, but that's just my opinion.

As long as we're talking about Idols. I'd rather see Kelly Clarkson on the NY stage.

Kuhn,
Did you see the train wreck that was "From Justin to Kelly"?
Miss Clarkson has some amazing pipes, but not much to speak of in the acting dept.

A friend of mine, a diehard Clay fan says, and I quote "i saw clay with kelly and I have a rare clip of him singing this is the moment from jekyll and hyde back when he was 17. he sounded great. i can picture him as chris in miss saigon, jekyll/hyde, or the phamtom or even fiyero. Rent, however, is my favorite show and him in the movie would be my two favorite things all in one."

His acting...........a little iffy on.
His voice............phenomenal.
Him playing Mark in the movie........he won't do it. It would destroy all he stands for. I mean he won't sing about sex on his cd so more than likely he won't sing about it in a movie. Also, Mark uses language and gestures that he is against.
Him playing another character on broadway.........I say go for it. I mean, we have all these pop stars who can't sing a lick have their shot, why not give it to someone with real talent. Too him, I say good luck.

I think if Clay got some acting lessons, he'd be perfect for Broadway. However, I think he needs to play out the wave of publicity/star-dom he has in the pop world first.
I am not sure Rent is the right show/movie for Clay to do.
I always tell my friends he's my boyfriend. I used to be obsessed with him. I was so excited when he sang that song with Heather Headley at the BC/EFA benefit concert a few months back!
