It was great !!! She actually turned around, and offered me some popcorn !!! :))

I put it right in my bag !

I also noticed .. (POSSIBLE SPOILER BELOW)

The "sodas" that Mary and Jackie have with the popcorn are actually "confetti" Squishies in Kwik-E-Mart cups !!!

Oh yeah.... before I forget----

For those that have yet to see Curtis as Sonny--- (He was EXCELLENT !!) spoke with him today, and he will be going on for Cheyenne as Sonny (which, I think everyone knew), but I think the dates Playbill listed Chey out were 7/21-7/27-

Per Curtis, dates are not firm yet.

POSSIBLE SPOILER [Look away if you don't wanna read]

Testing, all the drawings that Cheyenne and Kerry did were hilarious. It was like swiggle after swiggle.

Except one of a girl and a boy, which was pre-done.

Whoa, Testing, I kind of saw you. I saw your hat, but not your face (someones head was blocking you). Yeah, I thought you were an usher or something because of the XANADU hat...but then I was like "But wait, why arent the other ushers wearing caps?". I thought about that for like 3 minutes, haha

LOL !!!! Yep, that was me... it was funny, because when everyone was being directed to their seats, and given their "instructions", the stage usher (I forget her name) just looked at me, and said "Oh, you've been here before... you know the drill" -

Oh, just wanted to add a funny comment that I overheard... someone commented that the show was a little late starting (the obligatory 5-10 mins, like at every other show) because they were waiting for "that guy" to finish "cleaning the floor" (Cheyenne) !!! LOL

haha. Testing, these people behind me during the matinee were like "Who is this guy? The U/S, great!" and I said "Just watch, by the end you'll wish you'd knew who he was before." And they were all like "Yeah, sure." And bet my bottom dollar, were they not like completely in love with him by the end. They were like "You were right!" I was like "See"

And also, when Cheyenne was talking to me and he gave me a hug, this old lady screamed to her friend "SISSY, GET OVER HERE, MAYBE HE'LL DO THE SAME TO YOU!"

As I already said, I am completely in love with this show. I saw Wicked, Spring Awakening, Xanadu, and Hairspray and out of all of those I just kept gushing about Xanadu....it was almost sad.

Couple of general questions tho -
1. I saw that Xanadu's grosses are extremely low, now thats because of the 500 seating in the theatre, not because they are not selling tickets (right?) Because Im getting nervous...

2. Why is C. Jackson a replacement, he is amazing and should be the lead!!
I made a list of all your faults, it was quite detailed and lengthy too and when I read it through I missed you. Your like a classic Eagles song, you just cant help but sing along even though it sometimes gets annoying too. I just know I want to be wherever I can wake and see you there next to me. **High Fidelity** Love is what I do **The Wedding Singer** Xanadu - Best NEW Musical of the Season!

Renthead2, He was in the XANADU workshop and when it transfered from workshop to Broadway, James took over.

EDIT: From the interview NativeNewYorker posted about in another thread:

AfterElton: Let's start with a possibly awkward question and get it out of the way: Can you say why you didn't continue with Xanadu after the workshops?

Cheyenne Jackson: Yeah, it was just that I couldn't commit to a year in the show at that point. I had finished a film called Hysteria, and I knew I had to go back to L.A. to do some more scenes for it. It's a psychological thriller and it's my first lead in a movie, which is very exciting. It's supposed to come out in the fall.

Yeah, the night myself and Testing were there, It was SOLD OUT.
And I looked out before the show began and there were like 2 empty seats in the entire theater.

To be fair, I'm sure there is a lot of people being comped for the show, but it's not atypical for a show in previews. But I will say that just about every time I pass the box office, there's someone in there. In fact, when I went to go pickup my tickets for Wednesday, three people showed up in line after me!

And I'll just say this...Spring Awakening was comping up the wazoo, and they couldn't give them away. I got invited twice to see it in the same week, and you better believe I took them up on it! But the word of mouth from those of us who are comped, coupled with the reviews? Look what happened there!
