I noticed he was at the Drowsy opening night party and would love to see him do Broadway... I couldn't help thinking this would be a perfect role for him - no songs, just witty banter. Your thoughts?

It's a good idea...I could see it. I don't know if others could, though.
VonTussell -- I thought EXACTLY the same thing when I saw he was at opening night. I wonder if that's already in the works?
I am quite sure he is friends with all the creators...seeing as the Canadian acting community is quite small and they have all worked together. I would not be surprised if he was asked to take over when Bob Martin leaves.

I haven't seen the show, but I think he'd be a good choice. I find Colin to be very funny.
EDIT: Minus the Snack Fairy commercials.
Colin is a good friend of his fellow Canadian, Bob. Stand down people, there is nothing to see here. Go on with your other business. Move along. Nothing to see here....
Yeah, I think Mochrie would be right for it but they would probably go for a Name.
like they did with Bob Martin? :)
Colin Mochrie's about as a big a name as you'd ever want in a sweet, little show like Drowsy.
Awww! I love this idea!

i think he'd be perfect!
and really, he's a much bigger name than bob martin. haha
A lot of people know Colin because of Whose Line Is It Anyway? If even my mother knows who he is, then he must have a pretty big name.
WHAT A GREAT IDEA!

He would be so great! OMG that is genius = )
About three month ago I was thinking how good he'd be in this role. Just perfect.
I think he would be very good on broadway but he would have to perform in a show with no songs. maybe Jay Johnson? lol
**edit** double post, sorry.
Seriously, it would be a GENIUS casting decision putting Colin in as Man in Chair...
I swore to a friend (Who actually saw Bob Martin's standby on like the one night he ACTUALLY performed) that I would never see the show without Bob Martin... But I lied. I'd see it with Colin Mochrie in a friggin' HEARTBEAT!
For once, someone around here who suggests a "name" for a already-existing role and it actually works!
PERFECT!
I'd never heard of Bob Martin before I heard about Drowsy, but that didn't stop me appreciating the show when I was lucky enough to see it earlier this month - he was FABULOUS!
I have heard of Colin Mochrie - I remember him as a regular on Whose Line Is It Anyway when it was popular in the UK - and I have to concur that he would be a great choice for the Man in Chair!
Oh wow, I had never thought of this before. Yeah, he is really the only one I could see doing this now. He just has....that MIC type of thing. I think he could pull it off.
Haha, aw, I think that would be great actually.
If it happened I'd be pushing harder for tickets.
"I think he would be very good on broadway but he would have to perform in a show with no songs. maybe Jay Johnson?"
Or maybe in The Drowsy Chaperone as the Man in Chair who doesn't sing, which is what the thread is about?
First of all, Bob Martin has no specific plans to go any where in a hurry.
And Colin, well, while he would be complimented beyond words - his schedule is kinda set for the next year ( or so) and frankly while the touring IS very demanding- the rumuniration is MUCH more than Broadway could offer. It IS possible if Martin wanted an extendend break, I suppose it could happen but frankly very unlikely.
"seeing as the Canadian acting community is quite small"
The Canadian acting community isn't that small that everyone knows everyone... but anyways, I was thinking that a while ago. I would pay to see that.
