For my contemporary dramatic monologue Ive decided it'll be between Our Town (Emily Webb at the end) or The Ash Girl (beginning of act I monologue). I know both of these are probably over done but out of curiosity how bad will that effect my audition? Because out of all the monologues ive read these two have been the ones that I felt most genuinely fulfilled with presenting..
For comtemp. Comedy Im considering Cocktails at Pam (Estells green pepper) or Funny girl (I'm a bagel). Same question goes for these two

Honestly, if you do them well then it will not matter how over done they are. And sometimes it's better to go with a piece that people know, rather than something obscure. If you are doing something well known, such as the piece from Our Town, it's a lot easier for the people watching your audition to actually see what choices you've made, how they fit with the character, etc. If they are completely unfamiliar with the piece then the piece stands on its own and they can't put your choices into context.
AEA is correct. They want to see what talent you possess. The piece in immaterial. Be prepared that they may ask you to do the monologue in a different way...they may give you a some direction. This is a good thing.
What almost every casting director, director and acting coach have told me is that the song/monologue doesn't really matter, what matters is what you do with it. So don't be afraid of these pieces being too chiché, just act the hell out of them!
