Colman Domingo has been so good for so long, and I'm glad that Hollywood has finally caught up with him!

His play-with-music LIGHTS OUT: NAT “KING” COLE ran at the Geffen Playhouse in 2019, co-written and directed by current NYTW artistic director Patricia McGregor. Dule Hill played NKC in that production, with Daniel J. Watts as Sammy Davis and tap choreo by Jared Grimes.

Someone on Reddit is reporting that their performance was cancelled, then someone in the comments saying the Associate Director on the production passed away.

So, the cast actually did perform last night, though cancelling it was considered it given the circumstances. The AD was in a near-fatal car accident, and passed away after a week in the ICU. The cast actually found out about the accident after the Sunday night show last week.
On top of that; they are still scheduled to play tonight and open tomorrow

That is terrible news for everyone working in that building.
I was really looking forward to this show but hoooo boy, what a stinker. I'd be surprised if the reviews were any better than mixed-to-negative.
